Shamet would really help this team.

The Sixers didn't have to give him as much $ or years to steal him ... C's could hardly pay him $9MM and weren't going beyond 1 yr with an option. If the Sixers didn't give him that much money then Horford wouldn't leave Boston. Only reason Horford left was the offer was too good to pass up.

Shamet would really help this team. Shamet was traded for Toby Harris. It was an upgrade for the Sixers.

Elton Brand clearly isn't messing around in his first season as general manager.
The Sixers agreed to a blockbuster deal with the Clippers for forward Tobias Harris, center Boban Marjanovic and guard Mike Scott, the team announced Wednesday.
The Sixers will send rookie Landry Shamet along with veterans Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala plus their own lottery-protected first-rounder in 2020, Miami's unprotected first in 2021 and two second-rounders, to L.A.
The clear prize of this deal is Harris. The 26-year-old forward is having a career year, averaging 20.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 42 percent from three — all of which would be career-high marks. There are those around the league that believe Harris was an All-Star snub.
ANALYSIS: Elton Brand is going all in with this Sixers team
He slots perfectly into the four spot in the Sixers' starting five, which will now feature Harris, All-Stars Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler along with the elite shooting of JJ Redick. It gives the Sixers arguably the second-best starting group in the entire NBA behind the Warriors.
Comment: As I recall, Clips had no draft picks and were old needing fresh blood (would Doc stay in a rebuild was the question) ... so Clips wanted picks and/or prospects and targeted Shamet it seems cuz Chandler & Muscala weren't worthy. Then the guy from Microsoft bot the team and gave Doc a big contract to stay ... something like that.

Lets get Embid out of this misery. He should be a Celtic. We could win a lot of championships.

Just saw he is on a 5 year contract. He will be 29 when he is done. I think he will want out before.

I wouldn't trade Tatum for any player in basketball! Very few I'd trade Brown for! Kemba is starting to look like his old self. Gwill and Maker played great off the bench.Langford was very good on defense, Kanter rebounded well. With glass half full,I'll tell myself Tatum and Smart were a combined 9 for 19 from three!!

I surely hope so. We have seen good things from both. Robert is an exciting player. I hope he stays healthy.

Celts have very few needs right now.
All they need is experience.
The roster looks set for the now and the future.
Just continue to draft wisely.

Thats the thing. I believe in keeping the roster to mesh entirely. Learn how to play together for seasons to come. Its like spurs did it for so long and it was successful. I see philly and i shake my head. The amount of players they let go or traded just killed the team. If they had them by now, that teams year could have been exactly this year.

The only expendable player right now is Poirier. Theis is still young, so he can be the starter for a couple more seasons or until someone better and bigger supplants him. I hope Kanter stays also. This is a different Celtics team since we last saw them in March. After two playoff games, this team reminds me of the 2015 GSW champs.

I want to be optimistic always but championship caliber, maybe yes but consistency or lack of has been very marked on this team. Hopefully they ironed everything up

No one has a starting 4 as good as the Celtics! Tatum is a superstar, and what's better,he knows he Is! Brown is a star, who just keeps getting better! Kemba is the key , and he's starting to play like his old self! If Hayward can get back, and our bench play somewhat like they did last night, we can beat anyone!
