Yanks have won 8 in a row... I hate that the wild card is a one game playoff...absolutely moronic... Regular season is way too long... the PO's are too short... particularly the wild card.

Dodgers have three consecutive walk off homers.... by three different rookies this past week. Never been done before in MLB history. Quite a farm system I would say. Sale already has 3 W's and we are within spittin' distance of the 1/2 way mark in the season.
Sox are playing better but the dreaded Yanks are on fire.
OUCH!!!!!

So, the Sox lay an egg...they lose 13-17, a football score...appropriate for the first international game...yeah I know we spend a ton of money trying to compete with the MFYs, but it is time for a hard salary cap and revenue sharing...

From Rueters...Enough to make you sick...
Gary Sanchez hit a go-ahead, two-run single as part of a nine-run seventh inning as the New York Yankees rallied past the Boston Red Sox 12-8 on Sunday for a two-game sweep in Major League Baseball's first trip to London.
Trailing 4-2 entering the seventh, the Yankees' first two men reached against Marcus Walden (6-1) before Aaron Hicks doubled to put the team within one run. Sanchez swung and missed on two straight pitches before lining to left for a 5-4 advantage.
Gio Urshela (single) and DJ LeMahieu (double) added two-run hits with the bases loaded, and two more came home on a sacrifice fly and an error as the Yankees sent 14 men to the plate in the inning to blow the game open.
But the Red Sox scored four in the eighth and had the tying run at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs when Rafael Devers grounded out to end the threat.
Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the ninth in a non-save situation.
Adam Ottavino (3-2) got the win in relief as New York was victorious for the 13th time in its past 14 games. Didi Gregorius homered in the eighth to extend the Yankees' record streak of consecutive games with a home run to 31.
The Red Sox homered three times in the first inning for the first time since 1979 but were held scoreless from there until the eighth. The Boston bullpen blew its American League-leading 17th save, and the club has dropped five of its past seven games.
Boston was outscored 29-21 as 50 combined runs mark the most in a two-game span in the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry.
Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez and Christian Vazquez all went yard in a span of four batters in the opening frame, giving the Red Sox a 4-0 lead.

Sox are 10+/- back at the half way mark... 2 games+/- out of the wildcard.... Yanks are on fire.
Dodgers/Yanks in the WS??
MLB fandom would love classic large market match up.
Should be quite a series.
Pitching will prevail.
Bums are overdue for a championship (1989)... Yanks (2009) are not.
Pud
Edit.... 1988 last Dodger WS championship. 1989 was earthquake during A's/Giants series. OUCH!!!

I'm on the verge of sending him back to Beantown in exchange for a bag of lightly scuffed BP balls and pine tar.

I'd be losing my hair too.
Maybe he needs to give Bosley a call... and buy some product.

I still have Sale projected for 6 wins this season BTW so do not despair quite yet.
Da Bums seem to have awakened from their All Star break slumber.
I sure do wish the NL would go with the designated hitter rule. AL has had it for 30 years +/- and its a much better idea than making the feeble pitcher swing the bat.
Pud
EDIT: 46 years for the designated hitter rule!!! Time flies....

Bullpen collapse led to extra innings.
Wasted strong start by Ryu... so what's new??
Dodgers and Yanks in October classic.
Sox fail to get to POs.
So when is Cs training camp?
I'm ready ready Teddy.

Sox make the wildcard. Just got a decent pitcher from the Os for nothing.
Sale goes to Tibet for meditation and magic mushrooms. Comes back with a clear head. His arm is fine his head just needs a tune up by the Dali Lama.
