Morris went from consistent to consistently bad. He can go. He is slow. Kyrie can walk off the tesm too. I would be interested in pursuing other players that can actually show some heart and teamwork. Tatum could be traded for someone that could complement JB.

what system? This team is disorganized It's called hot potato. Kyrie passes the ball and the other guys pass it right back. Yes, but how many layups and open shots has it generated. If Tatum makes two more shots, we are up by a lot.

YOU CALL A TIMEOUT WITH 1.1 SECONDS AND THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS?

YOU CALL A TIMEOUT WITH 1.1 SECONDS AND THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS?
And gets compounded by Jaylen allowing a backdoor!!
1. 89 seconds doomed the Celtics
The Celtics are notorious for losing focus. Here’s as not focused as it gets on a play.
Jaylen Brown takes his eyes off his guy in the corner and it costs him. He [got] to burned on a cut to end this run, too, which is an on-brand lapse for Brown. He has played extremely well lately but he has been prone to stringing a bunch of mental mistakes together, which is why he sometimes doesn’t get crunch time minutes.
2. Brad Stevens wishes he didn’t call that timeout
“I probably shouldn’t have called the timeout,” Stevens admitted after the game. “I’m going to lose it going into the fourth, and you think maybe if you can get a matchup down the court then that’s a good thing; otherwise be safe. And I shouldn't have done that.”
Personally, I don’t think that was such a bad idea. It’s not too much to ask a player to not throw the ball out of bounds like that.
If anything, I’d have a different passer on the baseline. Marcus Morris still should have made a better pass, and I’m betting Stevens wanted some length there to see past a defender, but I’d think there was a better option to make that pass.
“There’s a deep look, but we had safeties. And so, ultimately if you can get a matchup you like from the deep look, we’ve thrown that before and had good success. But, obviously, didn’t work. And again, that’s on me for calling the timeout.”

Can someone tell Jaylen Brown we're in a ball game here?
Horrible last second execution costs us.
Good job BS and great execution.

Jaylen is playing NO DEFENSE. NONE.
Guys are going past him making layups.

Tatum and Brown are killing us tonight, both offensively and defensively. They've got to play better for us to win.
They are both playing horribly.

What is Marcus Smart doing? Hero ball.
We don't value possessions when you look at Smart taking on the Nuggets by himself.

Smart channeling his inner Kyrie, but he just not that skillful. Boneheaded move to kill the momentum

I tell you, Morris loses the ball, then Rozier gets blocked! The Celts are just not playing with belief.

It's obvious that the Celtics are just not on the Nuggets level. The Nuggets offense is so smooth and they work the ball seamlessly for open shots WHICH THEY MAKE.
Our offense is choppy with a whole lot of hero ball, missed layups, bad passes, turnovers, ill-advised shots and just completely errant, wide open shots with no chance of going in.
We're too inconsistent. Honestly, we're just a bad basketball team.

If we were shooting a tad better, this would be a different game. We generated open shots. They did too. They made a whole lot more.
Did not help that Baynes and Theis had to take over Hayward's minutes.

Too bad that they had to play bad against a quality opponent.

When there are less than three minutes left in the game, guys like Smart and Horford and Rozier and Tatum just cannot be relied upon to make a shot. Crazy sequence of 3-point attempts finally ends with Kyrie making a corner 3-pointer.
In crunch time, why waste possessions with these guys shooting and just get the ball to Kyrie because these guys cannot shoot (better yet, they cannot make a shot).
In crunch time, I couldn't care less if you were a shooter. I just need guys to make shots and we have too many guys who THINK they're shooters but they cannot even make a shot.
There's a difference between shooters and shot makers and we got a lot of guys who THINK they can shoot but cannot make shots when you need a basket.

The better (by a sizeable margin) team won tonight.
They cruise on 8 cylinders while the Cs hit on 5, particularly when accelerating to catch up.

You're 100% correct. We're just not good enough to consistently make those shots, wide open or not. We've had major offensive lulls all season long and it has costs us. It almost costs us against Atlanta on Saturday afternoon - up 25 in the 3rd quarter and we have to survive for a win. It costs us against the Lakers at home, the Clippers at home. We cannot shoot better, not consistently. Not Morris, not Tatum, not Rozier, not Smart, not Brown and this is the core of the rotation. Kyrie isn't even a consistent shooter but HE CAN SCORE THE BALL.

Our tempo sucks. We want to be quick but we take all the time in the world but yet cant make the right amount of passes and shoot a bunch of crap. The other case is that we want to slow the pace while Kyrie still going full speed. Kyrie can score but whats the point if we cant make stops. This team has players all over but like I have been saying all along, we are on a different page. Kyrie is not the right captain for this ship. Sorry but he is not. Is not his skills, is just not enough congruency between him and the team. If we expect him to go against all these teams in the playoffs, 2nd round exit await us. If we play at the right pace, making the right amount of passes, collectively assisting each other, thats when we do well.

There has been a lot of showcasing of Pascal here in Canada. How much i wish we had a guy like him. Speak of finding a gem. He is skilled and plays with passion in every possession. Great footwork and accepts his role. Plus he is tall and long.

We lost this game because we did not keep our composure. I hate these tribute games. Last year we got whipped on Paul Pierce tribute day.
