This article has got to be Philly throwing smokescreens out......right? No way Philly goes with Murray, without trading down right? And to trade down and ensure they still get him they would have to trade in to #3 right?!
The Sixers aren’t about to let conventional wisdom stand in the way of their quest to return to respectability in the Eastern Conference.
According to a report by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer on Friday, some within the Sixers organization think that former Kentucky guard Jamal Murray has the highest upside of any prospect in this year’s draft class, and the team may consider selecting him with the No. 1 overall pick.
“Jamal Murray, we certainly got a chance to see him a couple of weeks ago. He’s certainly going to be one of those kids who’s going to be in contention for the No. 1 pick,” Pompey quoted Sixers vice president of player personnel Marc Eversley as saying. “We like him a lot. He’s going to bring a lot to wherever he goes in the NBA, certainly a talent.”

So we trade the three for the one, throw in Oly and a couple of second round picks and we take who we want

PHI needs guards. They have Noel, Embiid, Okafor, Covington etc. Saric is trying to come over. They have no guards. Dunn or Murray would be in play. They should go after Clarkson.

PHI needs guards. They have Noel, Embiid, Okafor, Covington etc. Saric is trying to come over. They have no guards. Dunn or Murray would be in play. They should go after Clarkson. Economics may persuade Dario Saric to wait another year before coming to Philadelphia, Pompey speculates in another story. The Sixers have owned the rights to the Croatian star since making a draft-day deal with Orlando in 2014. If Saric joins the Sixers this summer, he will be subject to a rookie contract, but if he waits until 2017, he could negotiate a salary up to $6MM annually. “The timing of him coming to the NBA is still in question,” said president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo, who met with Saric and his agent this week in Turkey. “I believe there’s a desire on both sides to make it happen sooner rather than later. But at the same time, the contract scenario, economics, etc. all plays a part in that decision making. www.hoopsrumors.com/2016/06/sixers-rumors-okafor-ingram-papagiannis-saric.html
