If you have an avatar you like (either an internet link or a pic saved on your computer) you can change the default avatar (cartoon character) by going to the "PROFILE" link at the top of the page just under the Sox Trophy. Once clicked you'll be brought to a Profile View. At the top right of that file find "Edit Profile" and click on that. That brings you to avatar options ... select Use Only Uploaded or Linked and add your pic with a link or jpeg from your files.
Now, if you look at the top left of this file you'll see that the "Avatar" tab is highlighted in charcoal. You can check the various tabs there on your own but right now I want to introduce you to a few options in the "Settings" tab. Click on "Settings" and find a number of options available to pick ... the 2nd one down is "Show Signatures." Put this option on "yes" and you can add a message to the bottom of your avatar posts in the tab next to Avatar labeled "Personal."
Now, the 4th one down from the top is "Forum Themes." You can choose from 5 options that best suit your use ... Home Court (Celtics), Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots or White (mobile devices).
The 6th selection down from top is "Posting Default." I use "Preview" as I can see what everyone will see (once my post is done and listed) while I'm writing it. Otherwise if on the Code setting you will see HTML code etc and get confused at exactly what readers will see. This is also helpful when posting pics and videos ... if they don't appear then you have to try another link or means to post it from the options in the "reply" block at the top of that screen.
You can explore the other tabs on your own. Just be sure to save your new options each time you make a change ... when done on the "Settings" page, go to the bottom and select "Save Acct Settings" and your changes are saved and operable.
