I've noticed posts being made without a response to the OP and then being made separately as a new post below that ... sometimes when you want to respond to a post by way of using the "Quote" button, you can't see the box for your response especially if the OP is lengthy.
When you have entered the "quote response" box, be sure to scroll down to the very bottom of the OP until you see the green outline that surrounds the OP. Place your cursor below the green outline and hit enter to establish your posting space. For additional room you can hit the enter key on your keypad a few times to see more posting space. This may be more of a problem when posting from a mobile device but hopefully this will help.
You can respond directly to the OP by using 1) the "Quote" button, 2) use the white block just below for a "Quick" response if there are no other posts between you and the post you want to respond to or maybe the best option for mobile users would be to 3) copy that part of the OP you'd like to respond to and then use the "Reply" button. This provides you with an immediate response block where you can paste your copied info for response. You will also have all the edit boxes above to highlight (size, boldness, italics), add a pic or video or embed a link to a word or phrase.
