Howitzer (7-10) w/ 25pts (9-13 overall) C's play-by-play announcer (Drew) doing away games w/ Scal has picked up on my calling Hauser "Howitzer." Another guy reading these pages or just coincidence? It is all you Admin!...but I think I have heard it for a while now...maybe here actually!...seriously this is how stuff starts, nobody remembers when!...

Probably here ... I first started using "Howzer" as it was easier to type doing play-by-play then I realized that Howitzer was similar but moar fitting as it's Prussian for sling or basket which is exactly what Sam does. He's our "Big Bertha" as the original cannon was to Germany.
So tonight I'm watching the game and I hear Drew mention something to Scal about "Howitzer" then after the game during an interview w/ Sam he actually says something like "I'm here with Sam Howitzer" and I nearly spit my drink out!
Any way ... I've been referring to Sam as "Howitzer" for weeks if not months now and it's the 1st time I heard anyone call Sam that especially during ball games on NBCSB.

Well, the jinx is over.
I really hope Howitzer (love it) shoots like that every game. Like Scal says, it's all about the feet. If he has his feet set, he's a dangerous player. My concern has always been that he'll follow this up with a "decent" game, then a stinker. We'll need him in the PO's, so start resting the guys, give Sam, PP, Tillman, Kornet and Brisett some burn. Sitty coming up!!

Say what you will about GWill, and certainly many criticisms are deserved. But when he was here, his competitive spirit pushed Tatum in the weight room and in practice, and I think Tatum will forever be better for it.

Brissett is almost unplayable because of his lack of offense! Holiday had a clunker of a game, 2 points on 1 for 11 shooting, ouch! Pritchard is really finding the open men when he gets in the lane, that boy has been playing really well!

Larry Lucchino has passed.
Three time cancer survivor - sounds like the 4th caught up to him - RIP & Thnx for the Championships!
Edit: Reported Tues PM that he died of congestive heart failure
WORCESTER, Mass. —
WooSox chairman [as well as principal owner] and former Boston Red Sox president Larry Lucchino has died, SportsCenter 5 has learned. He was 78.
Edit: Lucchino sold the team in Dec 23' but remained as Chairman
Lucchino, who helped lead the Red Sox to three World Series championships during his 14-year tenure, stepped down from his role in Boston after the 2015 season. He was the first to call the New York Yankees "The Evil Empire" during the years of the intense rivalry between the teams.
Lucchino was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2016.
He was a cancer survivor who served as a longtime trustee and then chairman of the Jimmy Fund. SportsCenter 5 has learned he had fought a long battle with cancer before his death.
In 1985, before his tenure with the Red Sox, Lucchino was treated at Dana-Farber for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
"Larry leaves a legacy of which to be proud, and his life remains a beacon of hope to everyone who knew him or benefitted from his incredible efforts. It was truly a privilege to count Larry as a friend and colleague," said Josh Bekenstein, chair of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Board of Trustees.

I can't imagine him being needed much in the playoffs assuming everyone is healthy.

But with his former Celtics teammates in town, Grant Williams got dinner with players Sunday evening. “The No. 1 thing I’ll say is that like, same way in Boston, you have to learn the people you’re around and continue to grow with the people you’re around,” Williams said. “I feel like the whole loud teammate or talked too much (thing) — yeah, I may talk too much. That’s probably the one thing I think is true.” – via The Athletic Top Rumors, Grant Williams, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets
As the public tried to understand why the Mavs would trade him after being their biggest signing of the offseason a few months earlier, comments from Celtics play-by-play announcer Mike Gorman and ESPN’s Tim MacMahon suggested Williams’ penchant for running his mouth irked teammates at his first two stops in the league. “You can’t control what people say or think and it’s never been something I tried to care about. I try my best just to care about the guys that I’m around,” Williams said. “I also try to treat everybody with respect, so it hurt a little bit. But at the same time, like, I don’t put too much weight into those reports. So I just want to let those things go and try and keep the same relationships I’ve had.” – via The Athletic Grant Williams, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets
Williams said in Dallas, everyone was new. Regardless of how it ended, it didn’t work out. “I think it’s not that things didn’t work. I just think that I take most of the credit down there that I should have performed better,” Williams told The Athletic before his Hornets fell to the Celtics 118-104. “I think that as much as they relied on me and everything else, I didn’t necessarily come in the most prepared. But at the same time, I do believe that I still have great relationships with everybody there and I think that those guys are bound for something special in their growth.” – via The Athletic Grant Williams, Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks
Then Dallas kept him in a similar role, his shooting fell off after a strong start, and rumblings started that they could already be looking to move him. But even if it wasn’t the role he wanted, he understood why it didn’t change as much as he hoped. “I didn’t expect anything else. Luka (Dončić) does a phenomenal job and Kyrie (Irving) and all those guys get you open looks and you just gotta knock them down,” Williams said. “And no matter if it’s on time, off time, you have to be able to knock them down if you’re a good shooter. And I thought I did a decent job, shot like 36 percent when I was there. “But knowing the caliber of shooter I am, I’m still frustrated with myself this season. But I think that down there, I still talked, the same vocal guy. I think they were receptive, I just got to keep my performances high so I can do that.” – via The Athletic Grant Williams, Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks

I cannot fault the team for how it all played out, and it does appear the team made all the right choices.

He looks thinner ... he beat OKC from the FT line. No way Sixers win if SGA & JWill played.
