Im like the one PC fan that roots for UCONN. Im a big believer that you want to swing up not down. Im not a big fan but Meek Mill made himself famous by starting a rap feud with Drake. You want your rival (especially in college when your rival is one out of 350 Div I teams) to do well. So when you have those big rivalry games, youre swinging up. I told Ashley semi-recently. Dont start a feud with the secretary when you are a director. People will start talking about the feud between Ash (the director) and the secretary. Youll get lumped in together. ALso youll look like a bit of a bully. So I want people Im talking shit about to succeed. Because I think its better to swing up not down. And I'm too old to know anything about any of this Who the eff cares about college basketball?...players are there for a year or two...I do however recall a total goddess from my hometown who went to UConn...dang, I would have transferred there just to hit on her, but she did not acknowledge that I was alive in the same hometown as her so fuggetaboutit...

Pierce and Tatum. Pierce heart and killer instinct >> Tatum's Tatum athleticism >> Pierce Maybe Pierce needs to coach Tatum up...

So, I realize you are all asleep, but Admin, are you still rooting against the Warriors?...Eff, anyone who can beat the Lakers is my very very very very very very very very very best friend...maybe I misunderstood you months ago...As in, maybe you were just against the Warriors cuz they were playing the Celtics...but it seemed to go beyond that...I like Curry's quick release and proficiency, I can't stand the hanging the mouthguard of of his teeth thing...but all I know is that any team that plays the Lakers, I root for...

I'm not rooting against the Warriors ... I just think their time is over as top dog. Not that they are done but will find each round tougher than the last until they are eliminated. I'd prefer to see them beat the Lakers as, like most here, I hate them with a passion. But after seeing the Lakers (3-1) come back to win a game that I thought GS had control of and would w/o doubt win, it only confirms to me that my initial thinking was right ... they are yesterday's news!
So both the Lakers and the Heat (Celtic Rivals) did what was called for (3-1) ... standing on their opponents neck when they were vulnerable. But not the Celtics or for that matter the Nuggets. A character flaw by both these teams or are their opponents really better than we all assumed? The Suns are no longer intimidated by the Nuggets and neither are the Sixers afraid of the Celtics. They know they can beat us even if it is extremely rare for them to blow us out. All they need to do is be within striking distance and if they can't beat us, we may beat ourselves ... the shoe is on the other foot now. It's the Celtics that are intimidated and they need to fear losing this round now - especially if they come out flat on Tues back in Boston.
Tatum needs to stop bragging about his rebounding, passing & defense and score at will like other Superstars all game and not just for 12-18 minutes from behind. He needs to have a must score 40 every night mentality to win the game. Brown needs to be as aggressive in Q4 as he is in Q1. And Smart needs to understand that Sixer strategy is for him to be the only option open in close games and it's his duty to not let that happen but help free up Brown or Brogdon for the higher percentage shot.
If these things are ignored or our coach expects to continue to "learn on the job" in the middle of the playoffs then we are doomed.

Who in their right mind thinks "letting them play" is the best strategy opposed to calling a timeout? And today on his Zoom call, Mazzulla admitted he should have called a TO in OT to give the Celtics more possessions/opportunities. Said he'll learn from that. At least the rook coach is acknowledging his mistakes out loud... and that's a necessary/critical 1st step in learning!
Pud's truism: We learn more from our mistakes than from our successes! Mistakes stay with us a whole lot longer, they gnaw at our soul and are rarely forgotten.
Pud
Agreed. Similarly, I dont think we'll see JB leave an open 3 to double up on a 2 pt scorer, when a 2 doesnt kill you - any longer.

Always have, always will. But, I'm afraid we may be doomed no matter what we do. Looking at the remaining teams, I'm very concerned. Even IF we get past Philly, we'll have to deal with Buckets for 7 games, not a promising prospect. The Warriors are in our heads, but they are also down 3-1, so they are good as done. The Suns have Booker and Durant, and can score on anyone. The Nugs will give us trouble because of Joker and Murray. And don't even get me started on the revamp Lakers (why do teams help them? Makes me nuts) My real fear is this - that Mazz doesn't call TO's because he doesn't have any ATO plays. He is the anti-Brad. I say this because the metrics show that we are MUCH better with ATO plays, than playing on the fly this year. It's like 11-18 vs 8-20, or something like that. He's in over his head, and I seldom bash the coach. Game 7, any Game 7, down 1, 10 seconds to go.........we lose. That's just how I feel right now. Hopefully he really can "learn on the fly", but if he is really a metrics guy............I'm lost for an explanation. Another unnecessary MUST WIN tonight!

Yes the NBA is absolutely stacked with talent. Its my belief that it blows all other leagues out of the water (NBA, NHL, MLB). Your fears are not unfounded. Winning a championship is never easy. Winning an NBA championship is never ever ever easy. Winning the East is never easy, yet we did it last year. Which should count for a lot - but fans (dont mean here necessarily) seem to act like this group is a bunch of failures. Which is comical. We arent doomed. Far from it. Doesnt mean that we will win, just means that we can. Tatum can handle Durant (and Lebron). Horford can handle Joker (and Embiid). Handle doesnt always mean shut out, as Im sure you know. Just hinder them enough to facilitate a W.

Hed ... Doc is setting the table for Game #5.
He's brainwashing the refs into watching how Tatum always pushes off with his free arm for space against his defender. If this gets 2 OF's on Tatum next game it's worked it's magic.
Too bad Mazz hasn't "learned" something from Doc ... he could be setting the table for all those charges Embiid makes or the clutching and grabbing by P.J.
