opposite of KG? That's fucked up you know i don't care where we are in the standing. For instance. If you go to a concert and the band only plays at 100% for half of their songs you would be pissed no? What to take a guess where my switch is tuned all the time? I've been on both sides of that in bands. I've seen poor efforts...mostly from bands that don't like each other. Police a great example. Another, I saw dokken fight and leave the stage. But I've also played when guys don't want to and there's just no magic. Horrible feeling. A lot of that is tied to substance abuse Substance abuse aside. Were you one of the players that gve less than100%? I already know the answer

Its true. Ive been to concerts when the dudes are doped on the H, and all they do is stare at their shoes, completely out of it. My friends band, they range from okay to awful. And I mean awful awful, depending on how much theyve drank. I was at a Queens of the stone age show, and the bandmates had to literally hold Josh Homme upright as he slurred through his songs. We left early after being excited for the show.

Sounds like you should have switched to bass. We all know you have a great ear. But maybe the fingers held you back at lead guitar.

So you two think substance abuse is the reason players don't give 100% every night?
Too many blunts before the game?
That would explain sleep walking thu some games by the folks we call superstars.
JFC these guys are in their 20s and early 30s they can't muster up every game?

Potential Boston Celtics wing addition ‘wouldn’t sniff the floor’ if signed by Andrew Hughes
While a reader’s question in the latest Celtics Mailbag from MassLive’s Brian Robb pertaining to the Boston Celtics filling their final roster spot was specifically about Stanley Johnson, Robb’s answer applied to all prospective Cs 15th men.
You won’t sniff the floor barring something catastrophic happening to a member of the Celtics’ rotation.
Robb explained the positive financial implications of not signing anyone [being cheap] with the open roster spot created by the Noah Vonleh trade to the Spurs back in January while explaining what would inspire the front office to change their direction in free agency:
Free agents the Boston Celtics should consider
What the Boston Celtics need to consider in their next free agent addition is malleability, much in the way Sam Hauser has been during the 2022-23 season being benched gracefully and returning with little in the way of scorn and much in the way of a renewed shooting stroke.
Such a player is more likely be found through the G-League, where players are humble enough to take the road with the lesser spotlight and less money to try and get back on an NBA roster. Jay Scrubb and Justin Anderson continue to loom large as wings who make sense.
Of course, Tony Snell and Denzel Valentine also make sense given their experience in Maine with the Celtics G-League affiliate. Johnson, the original floated target, could fit into that description as well given his career journey.
Free agents the Boston Celtics shouldn’t consider
As for free agents the Celtics shouldn’t consider, Carmelo Anthony comes to mind as someone who’d be better off signed at the offset of season as opposed to its final days. After passing up on Will Barton, it’s clear the Cs aren’t looking for pure scoring talent.
Rather, Boston needs someone willing to fit in. Anthony could still likely be the No. 3 option in the right offense, but he doesn’t seem like someone willing to sporadically play like Blake Griffin does in a Celtics uniform.

so since we have what 2 weeks left in the regular season now and we STILL have an open roster spot, I ask WHY?
I get this team is not into adding an serious salary= Check!
I get this team doesn't want to add anyone who could "make waves"=Check!
but WHY in the world would you go into the playoffs with an open roster spot?
for christ sake sign one of the young guys from main (L. Samanic is my choice now). It will cost less than $300K in pro-rated salary now and they can add non-guaranteed years onto the deal to boot.
NO one they sign will be ANY factor some the playoffs, we all agree with that. BUT we saw just last year how having a player on a cheap, non-guaranteed deal can help get a trade done. Stauskas, Morgan ad Fitts were all added to the Brogdon deal to make the salary work!
I get waiting as long as possible to save Wyc some of that cash he likes to horde but Jesus H!

Brad should have traded PP for a needed wing (Jalen McDaniels?) and/or added IT as guard/scorer insurance

Okc during kd last 2 years had a fractured locker room with the vets on the non side and lamb, Reggie Jackson leading the youth on the pro side. I think we're just in 5th gear cruising at a constant speed, focusing on finishing safely. How many times have we seen the Celtics get blown out the game before a big game, especially v Milwaukee? I think the only game before a bucks game we won was the game before we sat the starters anyway and lost in overtime with blake griffin playing all game.

That would be exciting, but we already have PP... we have an open roster spot and they haven't filled it with a player to help. SO signing IT is only to let him ride on the buss and maybe get a ring before he turns in his retirement papers next year. I can't think of another recent player who deserves that more than him.

Good player in college at St johns You mean at Pitt... Actually, I did mean St Johns, but I appreciate the correction. Misread for Julian Champagnie, his twin bro (who I saw a good amount at st johns). Know very little about his bro Justin, who is who we signed. So I did make an error, just got the entire dude wrong (not where he played in college)

Would love to see Julian and Justin Champagnie take on Sam and Joey Hauser in a 2 on 2.

So I did make an error, just got the entire dude wrong (not where he played in college) Got several friends who went to Pitt and closely follow them. Two of them told me about him as soon as it was announced we signed him. They both talked him up as a decent spot up shooter who can defend. With 4 games in 6 nights to end the season, he should get plenty of run. Hope he shows well.

Celtics to sign Justin Champagnie Champagnie would fill the Boston’s final open roster spotBy Keith P Smith
Photo by Dave Eggen/NBAE via Getty Images
Champagnie went undrafted out of Pittsburgh at the 2021 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-6 forward then played his rookie season with the Toronto Raptors on a two-way contract. In 36 NBA games as a rookie, Champagnie averaged 2.3 points in 7.8 points [minutes] per game. In 18 games with Raptors 905 of the G League, Champagnie averaged 19.4 points on 48/36/75 shooting splits. He also added 7.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and nearly a block per game. Last summer, Champagnie signed a partially guaranteed, multi-year standard deal with Toronto. He was waived in late-December, ahead of his contract becoming fully guaranteed. Champagnie saw limited NBA action this season. In 33 G League games between Raptors 905 and the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Champagnie averaged 19.5 points per game on 52/32/70 shooting splits. He also grabbed 8.7 rebounds and snagged 1.1 steals per game. Champagnie will provide Boston with some additional wing depth over the final four games of the regular season. The Celtics will get a chance to look at Champagnie over that period, as well as during the postseason, before making a decision on his role with the club headed into the 2023-24 season. Champagnie’s twin brother Julian is currently signed to a two-way deal with the San Antonio Spurs. Julian has split his rookie season between the Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers, after going undrafted out of St. John’s at the 2022 NBA Draft.
The C’s were looking to a sign a wing, which the 6-foot-6 Champagnie fills on the roster.
It was likely the Celtics weren’t going to fill the 15th roster spot with an immediate contributor considering how deep their roster already is. Buyout market players are often looking for a bigger role, which the C’s couldn’t provide on a nightly basis in the rotation. Champagnie doesn’t have too much NBA experience in his career, but this is likely the case where the Celtics are looking to sign a prospect they want to develop going forward.
Justin Champagnie
NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
POSITION: SF PF FROM: Pittsburgh HT: 6-6 WT: 200
BORN: 6/29/01 YEAR: Sophomore WING: NA REACH: NA
Draft Notes
Champagnie is a unique prospect. He’s got a compact 6-6 frame, has the ability to hit the 3pt shot and is also a really high level rebounder and interior scorer.
He projects as a versatile forward at the NBA level who comes in and does all the dirty work, defending, rebounding, running the floor with energy while also being able to hit the corner 3. His outside shooting could be his make or break NBA skill and all signs point to him steadily improving in this area.
Justin is a crafty scorer around the rim who knows how to get his shot off against taller opponents. Has a real knack for scoring the ball.

Adrian Wojnarowski: The Utah Jazz are signing F Luka Samanic through the 2023-2024 season, a deal including guaranteed money and trigger dates, his agents George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of @prioritysports tell ESPN. Samanic, 23, was the 19th overall pock to the Spurs in 2019.
Will be interesting to see IF either of these guys stick on an NBA roster next year and/or which one.
