Will Barton should make it thru the waiver wire tomorrow (Thurs) yet there has been no talk of potential teams interested or negotiating with him or his agent.
Could it be a down low negotiation before an announcement like those that Brad Stevens is known to do or are no teams interested and willing to wait to sign him as a FA this summer?
I'd be shocked if he wouldn't jump on a chance to be part of a Championship team forever with a ring to boot!

Ime will be a distraction. The focus will always be on Ime. So I don't think any team wants that.

HoopsRumors Reports:
Recent comments from Durant and Chris Paul about Carmelo Anthony have led to speculation that they may lobby the Suns to sign the 38-year-old forward, according to Jeremy Cluff of The Arizona Republic. Anthony has been out of the league after playing 69 games for the Lakers last season.

Celtics Have ‘Mutual Interest’ in Will Barton
According to a source who spoke with CelticsBlog’s Keith Smith on February 2, it would appear that Will Barton and the Celtics hold a mutual interest in adding the veteran wing to the roster for the remainder of the season.
“Keep an eye on Will Barton, should he work a buyout with the Washington Wizards. A source told CelticsBlog, “There’s some mutual interest there. Barton would give them another scorer off the bench, and he has big game experience too.”…Chris Haynes reported on the #thisleague Uncut podcast that it’s increasingly likely Barton won’t finish the season with the Wizards. That makes him a buyout target for the Celtics,” The source told Smith.
On February 21, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Barton had completed his buyout with the Washington Wizards and will now become an unrestricted free agent. Barton, 32, has played in 40 games this season, averaging 7.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 38.7% from the field and 38% from deep.
The Celtics will be free to discuss terms with him and could potentially offer him a $3.2 million deal courtesy of their Disabled Player Exception, which could them in a prime position to acquire the veteran as long as he’s willing to play a reduced role on a contending team.

The question is will Ime be hired? Candidate, yes! Getting the job is another story.
Former Boston Celtics HC Ime Udoka could help the Hawks reach next level
Before the season, the Hawks seemed like a potential riser in the Eastern Conference given the acquisition of Dejounte Murray. Unfortunately, a major step back from John Collins and the fall of the team’s second unit with the losses of former starter Kevin Huerter, Lou Williams, and Delon Wright have caused Atlanta to become a Play-in candidate with no guarantee to get back to the postseason.
This core has to work. It cost the Hawks too much to land Murray and not at least get back to the second round of the postseason. Udoka is the most proven asset on the market and possibly the only man who can get the team right on such short notice.
Trae Young may have plenty of pull as the franchise pillar, but Udoka has proven to be able to get egos in check and have his team playing together.
If the former Boston Celtics coach can have them defending at a high level like he had the only team he’s ever coached, the 2021-22 Cs, Atlanta could right the ship and be relevant again in short order. They have the talent to be in the top half of the conference — and Udoka has the coaching pedigree to get them there.

he is Atlanta bound. You watch. The timing was a bit of a coincidence.

Makes sense as he's the best available but it was expected that he's take a year off before coming back to coaching. If he takes the job that means he sees the Hawks as a special situation that could not be passed up now.

That's why I said Ime Udoka will not be coaching in the NBA any time soon.
Teams don't want the baggage that comes with Udoka.

Update on Will Barton:
Sixers Notes: Barton, Dedmon, Embiid, McClung by Luke Adams
The Sixers have inquired about veteran guard Will Barton, a source tells Jason Dumas of KRON4 News (Twitter link). Barton, who is now a free agent after clearing waivers on Thursday, continues to weigh his options after being bought out by the Wizards, Dumas adds.
The 76ers currently have a full 15-man roster, so if the team wants to sign Barton or another free agent, someone would have to be waived to open up a spot.
Furkan Korkmaz, who requested a trade prior to this month’s deadline and remains out of Philadelphia’s rotation, would theoretically be a candidate to be cut, but his contract includes a $5.37MM guaranteed salary for next season. The only Sixers whose contracts don’t feature a guarantee or a player option for 2023/24 are Georges Niang, Shake Milton, Jalen McDaniels, Paul Reed, and recently signed big man Dewayne Dedmon.
Comment: Niang is a PF and Reed & Dedmon are both Cs - Milton (SG) and McDaniels (SF) are wings that could be waived for Barton

I didn't make any predictions on Snyder. What I'm predicting is no team in the NBA will hire Ime because Ime will be a distraction to the team.

Your response is unconnected ... WTF?

Like I said, it has nothing to do with Atlanta or Snyder. It's a general statement. No NBA team will hire Udoka because he will be a distraction. Maybe teams will say Udoka is a candidate, but they will never hire him.

So Hawks offer job to Snyder and he hasn't accepted yet ... Odd as it sounds like they had in depth conversation about the team's direction and no doubt HC salary each year. Generally when parties agree on all details, an offer is followed by acceptance unless given 24 hrs to decide. Maybe he needs to discuss this with family first ... if he should decline, then what?
Hawks Offer Head Coaching Job To Quin Snyder by Rory Maher
6:40pm: Atlanta is nearing a deal with Snyder, Wojnarowski said on NBA Countdown (Twitter video link).
5:17pm: The Hawks have offered their head coaching job to Quin Snyder and there are “strong signs” that the former Jazz head coach will accept the position, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on The Rally (Twitter video link).
According to Charania, Snyder is still gathering information on the job and the organization, but it sounds as if it’s only a matter of time before he accepts the offer. Charania hears from sources that Snyder’s contract could be around $8MM per year, and the 56-year-old has “significant interest” in the opening.
Charania reported yesterday that Snyder was in formal negotiations with Atlanta and he looked like the team’s top choice. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday that Snyder and the Hawks were making progress in their discussions about a deal.
