So everyone likes Olynyk for a big ... then get Jalen McDaniels for the wing and we're good to go!

Nobody is panicking. We're not panicking. We are not BKN good and we're not this bad. We're somewhere in between. But this team needs help. As constructed, this is not a championship team. We lack the mentality and focus to be a championship team. Al Horford and Grant Williams should be off-the-bench, 20 minutes max players. Both are way too inconsistent. Unless either of them are ON their games, they're basically useless. There is NO WAY Horford should be starting. We need a capable 6'8"-ish wing as well as a productive/active big. Grant don't cut it. Horford is getting older and more tired. The same message i've had all year. Second message... .Mazz defensive scheme is.... shoot more three pointers i like the odds.

I hope we don't go back to Olynyk. I don't want another big to stand out at the 3-point line shooting 3's. If we're able to get a wing in the Jalen McDaniels/PJ Washington mold, I'd be okay with a big who can man the paint and rebound and just be active around the hoop.
Olynyk has to be one of the slowest bigs in the game and I'm scared of his defensive limitations.
In a perfect world, Plumlee and McDaniels/Washington would be perfect.

What Ainge wants is a draft pick. Gallo's contract is just to match salaries.
Oly for Gallo, Jackson, Kornet, and a pick works!

I have shared similar thoughts for the longest. But no matter what help we bring, as long as the offense runs through two or three guys (Tatum, brown, Brogdon) we ain't going anywhere. Mazulla is just sending out those three guys perhaps four including White, out there to win every game via the 3 point. Sends them and lets them "figure it out". That's not gonna cut it as good as those three are. There needs to be player involvement. There needs to be a team against the elite and against the bad.

With Kyrie now wanting out of Brooklyn, KD will be the next one to ask for a trade.
KD might be the one traded first.
There's just nothing there if Kyrie is gone. I mean Ben Simmons as the 2nd best player behind KD?
It won't be long now before the talk of JB for KD restarts again.
Those posters here who keep complaining about how dumb and stupid the Celtics are might find the idea of KD in Boston intriguing.
KD has a very high basketball IQ.
So the Celts will automatically become a smarter team.
The question is will trading JB for KD disrupt team chemistry?
For a KD trade to work, it has to be JB, PP, Gallo, and multiple picks going to the Nets.
A top 6 core of KD, JT, Smart, Al, Rob, and Brogs will be very hard to beat in a 7-game series.
The downside of swapping JB for KD is the championship window will be shortened from 8-10 years to 2-4 years.

And if GSW gets KD for Jordan Poole and other young GSW players, it's game over for the rest of the league if KD is once again a Warrior.

I don't agree any more simply because they're reaching a point where the likelihood of one of then being injured at any given time is better than 50-50 The first time, yeah

Wouldn't they have to trade Wiggins to get KD? Aren't the Warriors already the highest payroll? If you were the Nets, wouldn't you START with Wiggins??

It would have to be Wiggins AND Poole for Durant. Wiggins alone won't do it.
If you're GSW, would you do that??

It would have to be Wiggins AND Poole for Durant. Wiggins alone won't do it. If you're GSW, would you do that?? I would yes. But Poole is hard to trade due to his extension. The receiving team takes on over $26M in salary for trade purposes. which means Poole and Wiggins would be a combined $59M for salary matching KD makes $44M this year, so the Nest would have to send out $3-4M in additional salary in that deal. GS however only get credit for sending out Poole's' $3/9M in this years salary, which combined with Wiggins $33M adds up to Just over $37M. There might be a way tog et it to work, but it would be tough. And we all assume KD will want out, before we see what the Nets get in any trade. If the Nets can pull off Irving and piece to Phoenix for C Paula and J. Crowder, one can argue it makes the Nets a BETTER over all team. Of course any team that dumps Cryin Kyire will be better. and remember KD asked for a trade with Irving still there, it wouldn't surprise me if KD is just fine with Irving moving on.

I would assume KD uses his clout/threats to leave, to get Cancer Irving resigned by the Nets

It would have to be Wiggins AND Poole for Durant. Wiggins alone won't do it. If you're GSW, would you do that?? Last summer KD only had Phoenix, Miami, and Boston as his preferred destinations. Unless he changes his mind about GSW, it's going to be those 3 teams the Nets will be calling. Boston will not be calling the Nets, it will be the Nets calling Boston because Boston has the best player that could be available. Suns will only offer Ayton and Bridges because if they offer Booker then what's the point of trading for KD. Heat will only offer Herro and multiple picks because if they included Bam then the Heat will not be a contender. So it's only Boston that can give the Nets a star player and picks and the Celts will still be contenders.

I was all for the double big line up...that's not working. It's basically 3 on 5. Al or Time Lord aren't offensive threats and plays are rarely ran for them. Put AL on the bench and get a 4 off the scrapheap

Here comes the Sun indeed and while it's freezing in the northeast, the Phoenix Suns are playing in the dark themselves (under an eclipse) with no Devin Booker (out since Xmas with a groin injury) or Cam Payne (right foot sprain) who'll be out another week before evaluations, leaving their backcourt thin and dependent upon the aging Chris Paul (PG) & Landry Shamet (SG) who's averaged 9pts/gm while shooting .389 on 3's for his career.
Dare I say it? This should be like taking candy from a baby but this is a Celtics squad with a different mindset than ours and our daddys' ... just ask Pedro:
You got it right...

I don't think it's players we need. As I've said before, this team already has all the talent, skills, and ability to win a championship. What they need is smarts and wisdom leading them. Mazzula isn't it (and it's not that I don't like the guy, cause I do). That's where we need to make a change. Not players. We already have the talent we need. They just don't have the know-how to show them.
One example is the turnovers. It doesn't look like Mazz has done/is doing anything to remedy this HUGE problem. He seems too content to live and die with how we play. Or maybe it's that he doesn't know how to fix the problem (more likely). Both Jay's are pounding the hell out of the ball and negating all offensive movement entirely too much. Our offense is stagnant compared to last season. This is a big problem. A team with this kind of offensive power shouldn't have the scoring problems that we do.
We have facilitators in White, Brogdon, Smart, Jayson, and even Horford a bit. Consistent scorers in Brogdon, Jaylen, and Jayson. With shooters in Grant, Hauser, Payton, Brogdon, Jayson.
And they need to lay off the 3 happy, lazy offense. The amount of attempts are ridiculous.
Olynyk is a waste. Just more of what we already have. This team needs an experienced voice that commands respect and attention. Their bad habits are being left unchecked.

But Al and Rob together makes the Celtic defense elite.
Last season the Celts made a run in the 2nd half of the season, until the finals, is because of the double big lineup.
In this game, the Celts were doing fine until Rob exited after only 4 minutes of playing time in the 1st qtr.
The difference from last season to this season is Udoka only used an 8-man rotation when the Celts were on a run last season.
This season Joe is using a 9-man or 10-man rotation.

If you guys think a coaching change is needed then that's not happening any time soon.
So it's beating a dead horse.

I am fine with Mazzula...and I am fine with our team...just need Big Al to smack them upside their dumb heads once in a while...and for them to follow the lead of Smart and PP...overacheivers...work together... Brown and Tatum are complimentary players...hope they stay here and don't split up for individual accolades...

Right now, after 53 games, they have the best record in the league. So they're better than expected. Worry about the playoffs when we get there.
