Reid would be nice, but at his salary, and with it expiring, it might be difficult to match Yeah, We probably couldn't afford him next year!

Sometimes players who make small salaries are harder to trade than ones with higher salaries. Reid makes 1.9. Who do we have that can match that. In addition, why would they trade him now, he's a bargain at that price? Lastly, I thought we wanted him THIS year.......just asking

Gregg Popovich: It's much more difficult to play defense these days
During his 27 years of NBA experience, Gregg Popovich has lived through three different eras of the league’s basketball. He recently took his signature jab at the current state of the NBA. “It’s much more difficult to play defense these days with so many people that can shoot threes. The quantity is massive and they come pretty quickly so people are going to score, that’s just the way it is,” the legendary coach said. “Averages are going to go up. You can still work on half-court defense but in transition, when people can spread the court the way NBA players can now and from the distance the shoot, it’s obviously an advantage,” he explained. – via BasketNews
“I’ve said before – I’m just hoping that the league ends up with a 4-point shot or a 5-point shot so we can make it a real circus,” Popovich said. “Then it will be a different sport, it won’t even be basketball, it would just be a bunch of crap.” – via BasketNews

They have too many bigs plus they need a PG ... all they have behind Russell is Rivers & McLaughlin. Pritchard could fill PG/SG BU duties for them and his contract is identical to Reid's.
That said, if they don't want a contract back we have plenty of TPE space and a few 2nd rounders left.

Brogdon, White, JRich all the same. Then you have a great player in the making coming up in a year or so with JD. Why bother?

I like the trade idea, I just don't think it's practical because "we" think they have too many bigs. Perhaps "they" feel they can get a better return than PP or a second round pick. Would you include JD in a trade for the guy? That's what I'm talking about. Why would they "settle" for PP when there is potentially more value out there? Just playing Devil's Advocate here...........

While Im not in the "center is our biggest need" camp, I do like that Naz Reid,
defensive role is a versatile big (not a drop big aka a basket anchor). This tells me they use him as more than just a rim protector, and isnt useless when hes not playing under the basket (like a Kanter or a Luke).
His offensive role is a pick and pop / pick and roller. Showing he sets a lot of screens, which helps with penetration. And can also be used on the perimeter like GS uses Draymond. Naz sets a high pick on someone defending a shooter to create a little space. Goes to what Pop is saying about how NBA players only need a crevice of space these days. When GS is playing their best , their using Draymond to hide Steph behind him or as a screen to get Steph just a little space (all he needs). ALso the "and pop" part of Nazs role shows me he must have a little touch himself. I do wish is fg% was higher.
My interest is warm. What I LOVE is craftednba.com

Brogdon is primarily an on ball defender on D and a primary ball handler on O. White is a primarily a ball movement , off-ball, swing on offense with some shooting. On D, he's quicker but less long than Brog. JRich is primarily an off-ball, drive to the basket finisher on offense, he's a gym rat w/ sneaky athleticism. Good perimter defense (which we can use). I see room for all 3. Smart / Brogdon / White White / Brogdon / JRich Brown / JRich / Grant Tatum / Grant / Horford Horford / RWill / Grant

Some team might have a first round pick, and someone better than Pritchard. 2. There has been no indication that they want to move him. They just guaranteed his contract for the year. 3. Would you include JD to get him?

Pritchard is better than he's shown this season! Gm's probably know that! Well, that is a philosophical question, and I do not subscribe to that philosophy.

I would never trade JD before he goes with the big guys and gets his fair chance. I know what I am saying on this one.

Ill take both if we are able, but in honesty - JRichs contract is hard to match. Javonte Green stands out to me as a lower-cost comparable. And we know he fits personality wise (gets along w all our guys, and is super close w Tatum).
Green and Reid would be a good deadline , no?
