Nuggets on Friday for a 7pm tipoff Sweet!...gawd willing, the Democrats will have control of the Senate by then...and the adults will be in charge, instead of the clowns... From elsewhere: Wow, all these comments here... I'm really curious when the Republican party went from being the party of patriots, to the party of cowards, traitors, and collaborators. I grew up during the Cold War, when Republicans considered Communist Russia our enemy. What changed? Why the sudden need to defend Russia's invasion of a sovereign nation and mass-murder of its people? You all wonder why Biden is our president? It's not because the election was stolen, but because many of us Republicans don't even recognize our own party anymore, and want nothing to do with the vitriol and nastiness the Republican party has become.

An impossible defensive play by DPOYticus.
He does absolutely nothing to break his fall and lands hard because he is so intent on using his arms/hands to advance the ball forward to a speeding JT... for the flush.
A GOD-tier play.... and what extraordinary court awareness as Smart goes horizontal to control a loose ball... with his team up 23 in the 4Q.
What self-discipline and determination... and his teammates shake their heads in AWE and bear witness while DPOYticus makes it look so doggone routine!

And in addition, McCarthy is going to have hecka fun with his slim majority kowtowing to the Sedition Caucus...couldn't happen to a better guy...

Who is the majority leader? Is it shumer or is it mcconnel. Shumer has control of the senate now. But I understand what you're saying.

Kevin McCarthy (if able to be elected speaker) will need a majority of 10-15 to get anything done in the house. If all he has is 5 he's in trouble trying to appease the far right characters like Gates, Greene and the other freedom caucus members.

to get elected speaker, you need 50% of the total house (not 50% of the republicans) , so hes going to have to either get the far right on board or get some Dems to vote yay.
I dont think the D's will support him, cuz he'll just say anything to get their vote, and not make good on whatever he offers to get their vote.
So if the D's are like "we'll support you , if you remain reasonable unlike the far-right crazies"....what good is his word gonna do?
He back-peddled on what he said he was gonna do bout Jan 6 sooo fast. So he doesnt have any cred. None of the traitors do.

True but he'd piss off his poors in WV no? And as Drew remarked, no effect on the House.

AZ at 74% in now and just adding to Kelly's lead ... 51.5% vs 46.3%
GOP will need a big boost out the remaining 26% but it's looking like a tie in the senate at 50 all with GOP needing NV & GA.
NV is still close ... 84% in and Mastro trails 47.6% to 49.4% a difference of about 16K votes. 50K votes possibly in Clark County largely Dems could pull ot a win still and make GA an after thought.

Ga is not going to be an afterthought no matter.
If the Dems can run the table and pull off 51 seats in the senate, Manchin loses a whole lot of leverage and gives Biden a lot more wiggle room to govern.
At this point, with a 50/50 senate, Manchin is the most powerful politician in D.C., bar none.
Dunno why he would want to change parties.
As an (R), he is just one among many.
