Fine.. When was the ist or last time a Celtic player didn't say something good his own teammate? IME will not have any difficulty signing players. FYI Steven's last words..We'll '''revalulate''''' IME at a later date Yes, I see your point. However, many people on here have criticized Kornet's game from last night. Meanwhile, the players went out of their way to single him out. I just think they know the game better than we do. I'll say this He looked half decent at times last night. 3 turnovers and 3 fouls in only 19 minutes isn't cool. The Wizards arn't exactly a league benchmark . My guess Stevens either trades him or doesn't pick up his guarrantee on 1/10/24. I might be wrong IDK Depends entirely on his % of threes he makes i think..

I think Kornet has earned some minutes going forward, and we'll see what he does with them. I wouldnt read too much into one game whether you liked his performance or didnt. I dont see how one could not like his performance based on most recent game alone, but I can see how one would think 1 game does not change my opinion on the player (which would be reasonable) well he just has Vonleh and or Griff to beat out.. .Shouldn't be much of an obstacle

... Darren Hartwell of NBC Sports Boston listed a number of centers that could help the Celtics in their frontcourt. Among them was Jakob Poeltl of the San Antonio Spurs.
“If the Celtics want a starting-caliber center who can gobble up rebounds and block shots, Poeltl is their man. The 7-foot-1 big man averaged a near double-double last season (13.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game) while adding 1.7 blocks per contest. The Spurs will be tanking for Victor Wembanyama, so he should be available. “Poeltl wouldn’t come cheap, however, and Boston likely would need to deal Gallinari, Pritchard, and a first-rounder to land him.” Poeltl has developed a reputation for being one of the league’s premier rim protectors since entering the NBA in 2016. He is in the last year of a three-year, $26 million contract he signed with the Spurs.
Celtics Insider Calls Poeltl A ‘Prized Piece’On October 28, Brian Robb of MassLive was asked about what bigs the Celtics could potentially trade for down the line during the season. While Robb listed where the Celtics could turn to for frontcourt help, he brought up Poeltl while singling him out as a “prized piece.” “There are a few spots of could be of interest to Boston. One is Orlando, who… have a glut of potentially useful big men on their roster. Once Jonathan Isaac returns, it will be intriguing to see whether they would be willing to kick the tires on an odd man out in their rotation. The same goes for the Pistons with a defensive-minded guy like Nerlens Noel available on the cheap, with Detroit focused on younger talent. A prized piece in my mind would remain Jakob Poeltl, who could shore up Boston’s interior defense in a backup role,” Robb said. Since the Spurs have started the season at 5-2, it remains to be seen if the Spurs will trade their valuable players like Poeltl if they continue to win at their current pace. Luke Kornet Shines in Increased Role After racking up DNPs when the Celtics faced off against the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, Luke Kornet has seen his role steadily increase over the last four games with the Celtics. Especially in the last two games against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards, where he’s played 26 and 19 minutes, respectively. In those last two games, the Celtics are a plus-23.3 per 100 possessions when he’s on the floor and minus-7.4 point per 100 possessions when he’s off, meaning that Luke Kornet has an overall net rating of plus-30.7, second only to Sam Hauser. Not only are the Celtics playing better when he’s on the court, but his strategies on the defensive end are not only effective, but they are going viral on the interwebs. President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens has voiced his confidence in Kornet multiple times. Since Interim Head Coach Joe Mazzulla increased his role, he’s proving Stevens right.

They look like death warmed over, like he's never been outside in the sun.
Get some sun on those unhealthy looking bean poles, amigo.... or take a visit the nearest tanning booth!

Some Kornet Remarks: Adam Taylor @ heavy.com Luke Kornet Impresses Against WizardsHe might not be a household name, but Luke Kornet was an impressive addition to the Celtics’ rotation throughout their victory over the Wizards. At seven-feet tall, Kornet is a quintessential rim-protector, who forces opposing offenses to alter their shot release. Kornet saw the court for 19 minutes of gameplay on October 30, providing his team with three points, four rebounds, and three assists – however, it was Kornet’s impact as a screener that made the biggest impact. When a ball handler scores directly because of a screen being set, the NBA records it as a ‘screen assist’ – Kornet ended the contest with 12 screen assists points, just four fewer than the entire Wizards rotation. If the 27-year-old can continue impacting games without the ball in his hand, then the Celtics will likely ensure they find minutes for him, regardless of if they sign another veteran center, or when Robert Williams returns to the rotation.
Smart Approves of Kornet's 3pt Contesting from the Paint Technique
By Souichi Terada | sterada@masslive.com
BOSTON — Every time Luke Kornet turned down a shot Sunday, the TD Garden crowd groaned. There were noticeably a few times where Kornet had an open look near the basket or a smaller defender was matched up on him.
But the 7-foot-2 big man decided to pass out of those situations, which worked out at least a few times as he finished with three assists. Kornet added another three points and four rebounds in his 19 minutes in the Celtics’ 112-94 win over the Wizards on Sunday.
There was one time, though, where Kornet was forced to shoot. It was with 5:52 left in the game and Kornet got the ball in the corner with only a few seconds left on the shot clock. He hoisted a side-step 3-pointer — and he nailed it. The Garden fans exploded in appreciation as Kornet has carved out his spot in the Celtics’ rotation over the past two games.
There’s also a fun wrinkle when Kornet’s in the game: He contests 3-pointers from the paint. Marcus Smart said he approves of the somewhat-unconventional move Kornet uses to affect the shooter’s vision.
“That’s something he is good at and watched a lot of film, and I think it’s a good way to contest without getting into a close-out,” Smart said. “It’s a solid tactic, so it works.”
Kornet said he started jumping up with his 7-foot-2 frame a couple seasons ago, but he did it a lot more in the G-League last season. He said he’s been told it works, which is why he keeps going back to the well.
Some fans have noticed Kornet, including a viral clip when the Celtics took on the Cavaliers last Friday.
“Came about it pretty organically,” Kornet said. “I’ve been told it makes a difference. In the amount of times I’ve used it, it seems to make a difference. If the numbers start indicating otherwise, I’ll adjust. But as long as it seems to be effective, especially with certain types of shooters, and things like that.”

According to Forsberg @ NBCSB:
The 7-foot-2 Kornet leaped twice vertically with arms stretched high above his head while Cleveland’s Isaac Okoro launched a pair of wide open 3-point shots from the corner during the second quarter of Friday’s game. Kornet said that, despite being 15 feet from the shooter, he’s trying to block the view of the rim to increase the likelihood of a miss.
Okoro missed both attempts. Though, it should be noted that part of the reason the Cavaliers got an offensive rebound was that Kornet sacrificed position to leap, allowing Jarrett Allen to help keep the possession alive. Okoro’s second miss bounced over the top of the basket.

Mazz is definitely an "Even Stevens" disciple:... the team shot a sizzling 21-of-47 from deep, in comparison to 15-of-32 from within the arc. Through their first six games, the Celtics are first in the league on made three pointers (16.2 3PM/game), third in attempts (40.5 3PA/game), and third in three-point shooting percentage (39.9 3P%). “I love three pointers. I like math,” said head coach Joe Mazzulla of the Celtics’ shot selection and quality against the Wizards. “I like open threes, I like space, and I think it’s a huge strength of our team. So, the thing we have to learn on the offensive end is exactly what you said. Just making sure we’re getting the best actual shot every time down, and regardless of if it goes in or not, it’s a good shot. We did a great job tonight of, when the shots weren’t falling, continuing to compete defensively. I thought that was great.”

FYI Steven's last words..We'll '''reevalulate''''' IME at a later date Ummmmm..... precisely on 11/2/21 when the Celtic player currently known as "Butt Ugly" publicly called out his two "superstar" teammates for selfishly failing to share the ball.
It led to an outcry in this forum and others that "Butt Ugly" had worn out his welcome with the then seriously despondent J's and had to depart Beantown ASAP for destinations TBD.

If you are talking about giving him Vonleh's minutes and Griffins minutes. So say 20 mins/game temporarily, while we continue to look at the trade and free agent market and also await RWills return, sure. I think his past 2 games have earned him that. If you are thinking about penciling him in as a permanent rotation member, and have high expectations - I think one may be getting a little ahead of themselves.
