Smart the defensive player of the year can't handle Curry. Way to slow of foot Nobody can handle Curry...that is why he is Curry, the best shooter to ever play the game...his release is so fast it doesn't even make sense...

I don’t understand why these reporters don’t ask tough questions. I wanna ask Tatum how is it that in the biggest game of his career, he can only convert two baskets in the 2nd half. I want to know why he lacks the aggressiveness that is required to lead his team in the 4th quarter like Curry does for GSW. Apples to Oranges. This is not the same Curry from HIS first Finals. This is the difference experience yields. On top of that he is the MOST SKILLED OFFENSIVE PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY. Well said...

Winning the NBA Championship is like climbing Mt. Everest.
<button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button>
You think you are ready enough and hungry enough and that you have the right stuff to make it to the top.
Most don't on the first or even the second try.
It turns out to be a lot harder than expected and you don't find that out until you are there in the moment.
The only Celtic that I am sure is ready, who has more than paid his dues, is Big Al.... and the circumstances beyond his control may not allow him to reach the summit.
But keep climbing fellas... and keep learning what it will take to make it to the top.
Chances of making it to the top are long on your first climb.... but you never, ever know if/when the weather might break, the stars fortuitously align... and you are right there at the top.
And who knew what a climbing season it would be or has been!
Pud
And it has been a heck of a tough climb, that is for sure...had to go thru all of the best teams...all of them...

We still could have won despite Curry. Shooting %s, 3s, Turnovers basically a wash.
We lost mainly because we were supposed to have a height advantage yet rebs were 55 to 42....13 extra possessions to put up missed shots. I don’t know if I have ever seen Curry miss but reb goes back to him & he does not miss 2 shots in a row.

www.yahoo.com/sports/kendrick-perkins-calls-jayson-tatum-044637354.htmlNick Goss Fri, June 10, 2022, 9:46 PM Kendrick Perkins calls out Tatum after Celtics star struggles in Game 4 originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston The Golden State Warriors' best player came up clutch with one of the best performances of his career in Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals. Stephen Curry put the Warriors on his back and scored 43 points to lead the Warriors to a 107-97 victory Friday night at TD Garden to even the series at two wins apiece. The Boston Celtics needed their top player, Jayson Tatum, to go toe-to-toe with Curry and assert his dominance on the sport's grandest stage. He failed to meet the challenge. Tatum scored 23 points on 8-of-23 shooting with 11 rebounds and six assists. He also committed six turnovers. With the outcome hanging in the balance during a tightly contested fourth quarter, Tatum scored just three points on 1-of-5 shooting as Boston's offense imploded down the stretch. Tatum struggled on 2-point shots, hitting just four of his 15 attempts overall. Many of his drives to the basket ended with a missed shot. Former Celtics center Kendrick Perkins gave a candid assessment of Tatum's Game 4 performance. "We could talk about turnovers and all the Xs and Os. We can talk about transition defense. But what I saw today was the best player on one team was ready for the occasion and rose to the occasion. And I've been waiting for the best player on the Celtics to rise to the occasion," Perkins said on NBC Sports Boston's "Celtics Pregame Live". "Where is Jayson Tatum at the moment? Real talk, where is Jayson Tatum? I'm not talking about 25 points on 22 shots, or going 8-of-23 tonight. When is he going to arrive to the Finals and have that big moment? ... He doesn't have to talk about it or tweet about being a superstar. You're there. We're going to talk about. You're first team All-NBA. Show it." Curry has been the best and most consistent player in the series by far. He's averaging 34.3 points and shooting a sparkling 49.1 percent from 3-point range. Curry is capable of leading the Warriors to a championship almost by himself. He's that good. Tatum doesn't have to match Curry's scoring output every game, but he has to be a much more efficient player and take better care of the basketball. The 24-year-old forward is averaging just 22.3 points on 33.1 percent shooting through four games of the NBA Finals. He's turned the ball over 12 times in the last three games. Luckily for the Celtics, the series is still tied and Tatum hasn't given an elite performance yet. If he can deliver in Game 5 on Monday night, the Celtics will have a chance to win their 18th title at the Garden in Game 6.

Celtics Ime Udoka Sends Strong Message to Jayson Tatum By Adam Taylor Getty
Game four of the NBA Finals. The Boston Celtics vs. the Golden State Warriors. A game that was played at a frantic pace, but ultimately saw the Celtics lose their composure in the fourth quarter, allowing the Warriors to tie the series at 2-2.
Jayson Tatum continued to struggle to score the ball, especially from inside of the three-point line, taking his NBA Finals averages to 50% at the rim, 25% in the short mid-range, and 15% from long mid-range – giving him a 20% conversation [conversion?] rate from inside the perimeter.
Considering Tatum is the Celtics’ best offensive weapon, his struggles couldn’t have come at a worse time, especially against a Warriors defense that prefers teams to get into a three-point battle with them. The All-NBA wing‘s struggles haven’t gone unnoticed, though, and during his post-game press conference on June 10, head coach Ime Udoka shared some ideas on how Tatum can get back to his best in game five.
“At times he’s looking for fouls. They are a team that loads up in certain games. He’s finding the outlets. Shooting over two, three guys. That’s the balance of being aggressive and picking your spots and doing what he’s done in previous games, which is kicked it out and got wide-open looks. That’s the ongoing theme so to speak, him getting to the basket, being a scorer as well as a playmaker.
They do a good job with their rotations. Sometimes hunting fouls instead of going to finish. I’ve seen that in a few games so far…We talked about the balance, how much we rely on him to score and get other guys involved. Sometimes that balance leads to taking some shots or over-penetrating when he has a clean pull-up or two. Nothing wrong with the floater, mid-range pull-up to get yourself going, especially when the crowd is sitting there at the rim,” Udoka told reporters following the Celtics’ 107-97 loss.
Marcus Smart Defends Tatum
Of course, when you’re widely seen as a team’s best player, and that team is in the NBA Finals, your performances are under a microscope. And following Tatum’s poor showing in game four, there has been a lot of rhetoric surrounding his ability to lead the Celtics over the finish line.
Speaking to reporters during his post-game press conference, Marcus Smart reiterated that his team trusts in Tatum’s ability, and knows that a statement game is right around the corner for him.
“We just constantly let him know to keep going. This isn’t your first time being in a slump. Won’t be the last time. You got to figure it out. We trust you, we believe in you. This is what you’re made for. Jayson has to figure it out. We have to do a good job of helping him.
But, you know, him being the player he is, these are the moments where he has to come alive and figure it out. He will. We don’t know when it is, but we’re sure it’s going to happen soon, we’re ready for it, and we’re here to back him up,” Smart said. Tatum Knows he Has to Play Better
You can’t fault Tatum’s effort. When his shot isn’t falling, he can still rely on his ability to create for others, or how his movement drags defenders with him due to his scoring gravity. But, Boston needs him to be the All-NBA wing they know he’s capable of being. Anything less, and their chances of success take a drastic step backward.
This is Tatum’s first NBA Finals, and it’s possible that the weight of expectations on his shoulders is weighing him down, but, during his June 10 post-game press conference, the 24-year-old was clear-headed as he explained what he needs to do in order to impact winning for his team.
“I mean, I give them credit, they’re a great team. They’re playing well. They got a game plan, things like that. But it’s on me. I got to be better. I know I’m impacting the game in other ways, but I got to be more efficient, shoot the ball better, and finish at the rim better.
I take accountability for that. I just look forward to Monday. Leave this one behind us. Learn from it, watch the film, things like that, but everybody probably feels like they got to be better, myself included. Just go get it on Monday,” Tatum said.
Tatum and the Celtics will have another chance to take control of this series when they face the Warriors in game five on June 13, although they won’t have the backing of their home crowd for that game.

Per masslive.com
If the Celtics earn banner No. 18, the next three games will likely determine who wins the award. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both averaging 22.3 points and 7.0 rebounds over the first four games. Tatum’s 7.8 assists (vs. Brown’s 3.8) stand out statistically, but Brown has been better in big spots than Tatum throughout the series.

They sucked sewer water the last 5-7 minutes. Really it started with Tatum's clueless possession with about 7 min left but went off the rails with 5 min left. Stagnant is one way to describe it. They just didn't f'ing play the right way. Even with Curry they should have and could have won.

Kerr’s willingness to bench Green in Game 4 is bad news for Celtics in NBA Finals | Brian Robb
(AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) By Brian Robb | brobb@masslive.com
BOSTON — Draymond Green may be a veteran fixture on the Warriors but he’s been an obvious weak spot on the offensive end during the NBA Finals against the Celtics.
Those scoring woes continued in Game 4 on Friday night as Green mustered just two points in 33 minutes, going 1-of-7 from the field. He had a far better all-around Game 4 (9 rebounds, 8 assists 4 steal) compared to his Game 3 dud but his offensive ineffectiveness was glaring once again in a tight game in the fourth quarter.
Normally, Green has always been a fixture in Golden State crunch time lineups for much of the past decade. However, Steve Kerr took action against Green’s struggles in Game 4. With the Warriors trailing by four at the seven minute mark, he pulled Green, going with Kevon Looney in his place. Golden State went on a game-changing 11-3 run over the next four minutes before Green was re-inserted back into the game. At that point, Kerr stuck with an offense/defense sub pattern in those minutes with Green strictly in the game for defensive possessions as much as possible.
Green spoke about the rare fourth quarter benching after the Warriors win.
“I’m definitely never thrilled coming out of the game with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter in a must-win game,” he said. “I’m not going to sit here and act like I was thrilled. I’m a competitor. But, at the end of the day, if that’s what Coach decides, then you roll with it.”
While it may have bruised Green’s ego in the moment, the decision by Kerr was the right one and a potentially damaging sign for the Celtics’ chances of winning this NBA Finals. For four games, the Celtics always had a weak spot defensively they could help off him without worry in the struggling Green. Now? Golden State’s offense got more dangerous down the stretch with Green watching primarily from the sidelines.
With Kerr showing the guts to bench the outspoken Green in such a pivotal spot, the Warriors are getting closer to finding their best consistent offensive lineups in the series, something that has been hard to them to come by for most of the first four games. Green is starting to resemble Ben Simmons with his offensive struggles and unwillingness to shoot and having him out there makes guarding the Warriors a whole lot easier for the Celtics. Kerr’s ability to see that in [and] adjust to it in real time with lineup decisions makes the Warriors a far more dangerous opponent. The Warriors head coach was willing to take the heat from his veteran for the decision but can ultimately point to the scoreboard in response.
The Celtics will have a chance to take back command of the series in Game 5 but doing so will get a lot tougher now without a weak link guaranteed to be in the mix when the game matters most.

Guess I missed it before...Sounds genuine, but a bit fishy that he came up with this name without realizing he got it from 'Hedy Lamar'...I guess it is like Led Zeppelin touring with Spirit and somehow 'Stairway to Heaven's' chord progression materializes out of thin air, nothing to do with having heard Spirit's song 'Taurus' a gazillion times... Great movie though...

Great question. The fan base is a mirror entering last night the talk shows had it in the bag. This am they can't win.
