As requested I’ve stayed away from Political posts. But since we’ve commented to death Game 1 and Florida/DeSantis has been brought up, I need add my $.02. Go ahead admin & delete if you wish. I’m neither a Trump lover or Trump hater. Forgetting the individual, I liked his accomplishments. Yup, I know no politics but can anyone truly defend Biden’s performance? And No one has rationalized to me the reason Biden has got away with the following: We now have a President who lied in 1988 and the scandal prevented him from being president but the party has forgiven him & now he feels Hunter didn’t take a dime $.10 in the China deal …actually not a lie, he took Millions and Papa Joe is proud of him. The left don’t care Biden is a Liar….they want from this Socialist Government special favors and they’ll be repaid. I can’t believe that the supposed 80 million(personally, I don’t believe he got that many votes) who voted him in turned a blind eye to it also! Regarding Trump, I don’t believe he did any nefarious financial dealings while holding a political office representing the people. And the media…nothing, nada, niente….just plain Ostriches. Next President...DeSantis & VP Rubio I'm calling BS Re: "My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives!!” Really ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) And your mind flooded the response with “ I’m calling BS”! In my experience when a Conservative disagrees with something they usually give a rebuttal as to what it was they disagreed with. Most liberals simply say BS or they don't want to hear about it/anymore etc. Maybe they don’t have an intelligent rebuttal to the subject matter.

Hmmm! Maybe some are coming over from Texas Rio Grande with Biden’s open border policy. But not only unmasked Covid individuals but terrorists and druggies. Any comments from you Democrates on the border crises. I say this as my entire family are immigrants from Italy and came through Ellis island well screened. Tony Payan, director of the Center for the United States and Mexico at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, wrote in a March 15 blog post that “the current situation at the border is neither a unique crisis nor the result (yet) of Biden’s policy changes.” In a phone interview, he told us that while the apprehension numbers are spiking now, “this is not a new crisis.” Instead, it has been going on since 2014, “when we first saw unaccompanied minors and family units arriving at the border and turning themselves in,” and the problem has plagued each administration since. As the chart above shows, apprehension spikes under the past two presidents in 2014 and 2019 similarly included sizable increases in family units and unaccompanied children arriving at the border. www.factcheck.org/2021/03/the-facts-on-the-increase-in-illegal-immigration/my goodness you are so gullible. Florida is to be mocked and ridiculed, until the people doing so need a vacation. they head to Florida, shed their useless masks and take in some weather, R&R and beach time. Then they come back and mock and ridicule Florida again huh? Florida is the best run state in the country! Maybe Dee and Hedley would be happier if DeSantis lost his very close election to Dem Andrew Gillum who 6 months later was found nude, passed out in his own vomit, accompanied by a well known gay male prostitute (also passed out), and both surrounded by crystal meth and crack. I guess that's how southern dems roll. Florida dodged a bullet that election. please google sarcasm. thanks

Unfortunately, you are already there.... right up there with the tin hat crazies!
Horford may have exposed the entire team to COVID in the last 24 hours.
That's the scoop.... and the league office is practicing due diligence by sitting him and not talking about medical issues.
I'm sure that team owners have been property notified and have signed off on how this is being handled.
If not, they would be yelling/screaming to high heavens.
If you are so concerned about the basic integrity of the league.... find another more respected sport to follow.

Agree. I'm not much of a conspiracy nut (except I think oil companies lower gas prices when Reps are President, but that's just me). The league has an obligation to tell us Horford can't play. I hope he did not expose anyone, since Brown is unvaccinated, but I don't believe Riley or the organization had anything to do with it
You sure?
Red use to turn off the hot water to opponents locker room in the Garden ... Red wouldn't say if he really did that cause he liked opponents to believe so.
All I'm getting at is if there's any way to start a conspiracy theory the NBA has it ... think about the players they quarantined just before big games ... The Bulls lost LaVine for game 5 vs the Bucks. Game 5! Down 3-1 and needing game5 to stay alive they lose a top scorer.
The Chicago Bulls' unlikely path to a playoff comeback against the Bucks just grew even tougher.
With Game 5 of their first-round series looming on Wednesday, and the defending champions ahead 3-1, Zach LaVine has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, a Bulls spokesperson confirmed Tuesday morning.
The Bulls have not yet officially ruled LaVine out for Game 5, but his status is in serious jeopardy. The team will travel to Milwaukee Tuesday afternoon without LaVine as he undergoes further testing.
"I know that right now in talking to our medical guys that he (LaVine) was not feeling great, I do know that," Donovan said. "I don't know if Zach requested a test, I don't know if the medical guys requested a test, I don't know any of that. I know he’s not feeling great."
Meanwhile, the league’s protocols no longer require players to undergo testing unless they are symptomatic, unvaccinated or subject to Canadian health regulations when they reenter the United States after playing in Toronto. In other words, a vaccinated player could unknowingly have an infection and continue to play games if he remained asymptomatic.
After requiring players who test positive to isolate for at least 10 days throughout the 2020-21 season, the league trimmed that timeline in December to six days for players who were able to pass new testing standards. In playoff terms, that would mean missing two to three games rather than four or five.
“We are able to get about half of the players safely back to their teams after Day 5,” DiFiori said. “Nearly all the remaining cases are then able to return after Day 10.”
In early studies, covid-19 treatment pill Paxlovid has shown to help unvaccinated patients avoid hospitalization and recover more quickly. (Jennifer Lorenzini/Reuters)
The goal of safely clearing players more quickly in the playoffs could be aided by Paxlovid, Pfizer’s oral anti-covid-19 pill, which received FDA authorization in December. While the NBA doesn’t have enough data to measure the drug’s effects on its players, Sikka said early studies of a general population have shown that Paxlovid can lessen symptoms and reduce how long it takes to return to work.
“It’s made people who are feeling significantly ill go to feeling zero symptoms within about 24 to 36 hours,” Sikka said. “In different testing scenarios, people have extremely low viral load levels in Day 4 or Day 5. Nearly everybody who’s taking this medication is clearing the virus much faster than they were prior to this. Our average for a return to work is about 5.4 days with Paxlovid, which I think is a pretty significant finding. The appropriate treatment with Paxlovid may allow us to bring down not just the average but to bring nearly everybody into that five-to-six-day range.”
Some members of the NBA community who have tested positive for the coronavirus have been treated with Paxlovid, which has a metallic taste and a range of potential side effects, including muscle aches and diarrhea. The league requires that team doctors consult with an infectious-disease specialist before prescribing the drug to players and other team employees.
As the first round unfolded this week, the coronavirus took a back seat to more traditional concerns: Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid battled a thumb injury, Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton sprained his knee, and Suns guard Devin Booker strained his hamstring. Even so, the prospect of a positive test swinging a series or upending the title race will loom over the NBA for the next two months.

I think Red or Pat Riley would try to cut corners to win. I don't really believe the "league" would try to hurt their business by telling their best players they can't play. If you believe that, I have no problem with it. Personally, I think teams err way too much on the side of caution. Can you imagine telling Bird he can't play because he hurt his thumb? Or telling Nolan Ryan or Bob Gibson they are only throwing 75 pitches today. The whole thing is very watered down.

I have a lot to say!
Before I move these posts to the appropriate place for further discussion let me ask you a serious question.
You believe Biden lied years ago and apparently won't forgive him for his transgressions but turn the other cheek to lies made every day and confirmed with past POTUS Trump. How does one ignore the obvious and cling to past transgressions as if they are current? Your past POTUS lies even now telling citizens that he won the election and Biden stole it when he set us up for the Big Steal Scam months before the election was held ... were you in Canada, wearing blindfolds and hearing plugs?
Please explain your action or should I say inaction on "the truth."

I don't necessarily believe that but I have become cynical and put it out there for discussion. I can see why teams are more cautious these days given the huge investment they have in their core players. That said, why would they agree to letting an outside source determine what's best for their player and team with Covid? Each team has qualified medical staff and access to some of the best medical facilities in the country. How the NBA talked the Players Association into giving control of the protocols to the League Office rather than an independent party is my concern. I'd feel much better knowing these decisions were being made by an Independent Board of Med Professionals with no clue as to who these players or the teams they play for are and how their decisions could influence games/playoffs. Seems this entire protocol stuff is top secret and nobody has any answers when queried.

What a boring game Warriors up 20-25 pts the whole game. They have Doncic...so what. So he’s their Butler. But the rest of the Miami team is so much better. Be careful what you wish for they say as I want the Cs to play GS. Hope we get through Miami but GS will not be easy!

What you wish for is not relevant...Warriors won the west when Steph and Clay finally got healthy at the same time...about eight months ago...and yeah, they will probably beat us after we beat the Heat...but I would not bet against this Celtics team...they will bring a defense that the Warriors have never seen for a seven game series...relentless and tiring...
