I disagree. It might be a rough 1st season, but we'd have cap room and high picks to build a better team.

www.nbascoutingreport.net/team-draft-board-celtics.html ... a solid roster led by Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and Marcus Smart. Other key players include Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynyk, Jared Sullinger, and well just about the rest of the roster. They have a few needs that can be addressed in the draft and I imagine they'll use at least a few picks to do it. Team Needs C, PF, and shooting Draft Board 3rd pick: BPA either Dragon Bender, Jamal Murray, or Buddy Heild 16th pick: Denzel Valentine, Marquese Chriss, Domantas Sabonis, Diamond Stone, or Furkan Korkmaz 23rd pick: Taurean Prince, Thon Maker, Brice Johnson 31st pick: Ivica Zubac, Stephan Zimmerman, Deandre Bembry 35th pick: Zhou Qi, Cheick Diallo, JuanHernangomez 45th pick: Malcom Brogdon, Petr Cornelie, Gary Payton II, Paul Zipser 52nd pick: Ben Bentil, Sheldon McClellan, Michael Gbinije, Jake Layman 58th pick: Joel Bolomboy, Isaiah Whitehead

I could live with that lots of good young talent Exception would be Brice Johnson the rest are cool with me. I can't live with us keeping Bradley Thomas and Smart however one should go especially if we resign Turner. Sully can walk to.

I think the #3 pick comes down to Simmons (if he falls), Hield, Chriss and Murray.
I would love to somehow end up with Hield,Murray and Chriss. (Future Brooklyn picks be damned!)
I am having an extremely difficult time deciphering between Chriss and Hield, however. Both have awesome all-star futures.
Again, I just think Hield is going to play and work harder than ANYBODY else in this draft. His COMPETITIVENESS is off the charts. That is the x-factor attribute that puts him over Chriss. Also, if either player were too lose his athleticism, I think Buddy would be the least affected by that. (He could become a deadly spot up shooter) Basically, Chriss is an extremely close second choice at #3 because is the perfect power forward if you were creating one in a video game. Buddy is the perfect combo guard. Scoring from anywhere all the time and defending.

#3 Hield (can play right away)
#16 Maker (might be able to play right away)
#23 Hammons (Can play right away)
#31 Daniel Hamilton / Wade Baldwin(might play right away)
#35 Amidah Brimah (can play right away/ 7 foot Marcus Smart!)
#45 Blossomgame (can play right away/ Crowder clone!)
Trade or stash the rest.

I like Jake Layman! A Peja Stoijakovic with bounce? He got me with the Karl Malone dunk!

OK as we near the draft some tings are starting to solidify.
Chriss has soared up the board now and is a real option at #3. Very high ceiling in todays NBA, but also a gamble if he doesn't show more drive than he has so far.
We'll know more about Bender after his couple of workouts, but I doubt he'll do anything to hurt himself.
Dunn seems to be a player that a lot of teams like and someone may want to move up and snag him.
Richardson from Syracuse has moved into the 10-15 range I think now.
at the end of the first round a couple guys moving up seem to be McCaw- UNLV swingman and P.Siakam-N Mex St PF (has been compared to Ibaka).

Best case scenario: Simmons, Hield, Chriss Next base scenario Hield,Brown,Chriss (Future all-stars!) I like this one best actually. #3 Hield #4 Brown (from Phoenix for whatever) #6 Chriss (from New Orleans for whatever) (Assuming #16 + #23 are lost in earlier deals) Maker/Hammons/Hamilton/Baldwin/Layman/Brimah/Blossomgame are second round targets if any second rounders are left after deals for #4 + #6.
If the Lakers screw it up by taking Hield then: #3 Brown (Baby Vince Carter/Tracy McGrady) #4 Chriss (Amare Stoudemire/Chris Bosh Hybrid PF) #6 Murray (Ray Allen like strengths and weaknesses)

Acquiring Hield/Murray, Brown and Chriss would be our young version of LeBron Kyrie and Love.

Acquiring Hield/Murray, Brown and Chriss would be our young version of LeBron Kyrie and Love. If you're willing to give up Oly, the Raptors may be willing to give you #9 but that may not be high enough for anyone other than Poeltl, Ellenson or LaBissiere.

Lets go "All In" for this draft and offer up future picks along with anyone except Thomas, Crowder and Bradley.

Lets go "All In" for this draft and offer up future picks along with anyone except Thomas, Crowder and Bradley. but next year's draft is suppose to be top heavy with talent while this draft is loaded with rotation players ... hope you aren't talking about the Celtic-Brooklyn swap!

Do it! We are running out of roster spots! If its too rich, get a future unprotected from Phoenix and New Orleans for picks #4 and #6.

We had better make room for Demarcus little bro on our draft board. He could be another Marc Gasol!
