When they had that stacked team a few years back and picked Jimmy Butler as the one they could part with....Thats laughable. RE on Rondo Per an NBA source familiar with some of the Lakers’ struggles through the 2020-21 campaign, Davis felt some frustration that he wasn’t getting the kind of looks in the post with Dennis Schroder running the point compared to those he received with [Rajon] Rondo a year earlier,” Pincus wrote.

This is why I think Schroder is best served as sixth man, leader of the second unit, where he has the green light to score. He's a great contortionist with good length, so when he's attacking the basket, he's hard to stop. Especially against other team's second units. I think Smart makes more sense as starting PGs because as frustrating as he can be, he's a good facilitator (when he's not chucking). I dont mind Smart shooting when he's open. But I dont like the early in teh shot clocks take it up and pop from well behind the line with the whole shot clock still available, when he probably look for a higher % shot. Still, I think he'll be a good facilitator this year. He's good at getting the Centers inolved, knowing when to throw the lobs. And Jaylen tends to shoot at a higher clip when Marcus is on the floor.

Dee - hope you're okay.
Yeah, looks like Millsap off the board to the nets (ugh). Good news for Jabari Parker, I guess. Personally, I'd kick the tires on Kyle Anderson next with Markk, Millsap, Nance off the board. Boucher remains a possibility but Im not sure if Toronto will do business with us. Also, I think their asking price is high, but would probably even higher to get them to trade within division.
Bummer, but not a huge one. I do think we should continue our search for a bench PF.

I dont think we need a starting PF and think Tatum will be fine there. But I think we could use a bench PF for certain matchups / versatility. If Josh Richardson starts, really, you only have 1 playable bench forward in Nesmith, and he's not a defense first guy.

JFC! Everyone's a ring chaser on the Nets with VM contracts. This is worse than the usual exodus to the Lakers by vets and FAs.

and now Aldridge is most likely to sign there too? Hey we could use a stretch 4/5 and can pay MOAR!!!!!!!!! Years ago the NBA would step in and say "no way" ... that's an all-star team and we won't allow it. Wasn't it LAL that they froze out of a deal ... bring back the Stern one from the dead! LaMarcus Aldridge has received medical clearance to start playing basketball again, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Nets are considered the favorites to sign him, Charania adds.
The Nets are facing a potential roster crunch after reportedly reaching an agreement with free agent forward Paul Millsap earlier today. However, Brooklyn could open up room with a rumored buyout of veteran center DeAndre Jordan. The Nets can only offer Aldridge a veteran’s minimum contract.

At first it didnt make much sense to me, but I guess if they are buying out De'Andre there is a few minutes for a smooth shooting bench big.

I wouldnt have wanted Aldridge, I think Horford is better at this point. And I dont think Aldridge can play much PF anymore. But that doesnt mean I wanted to see him go to the nets.

It's been a couple of years since I've seen LA make a positive impact, and they (spurs) didn't win the game. Stranger things have happened, but I'll be shocked if he has a good season.

Lakers and Nets better hope nothing happens to any of their stars, because the rest of the team should be in an old folks home!
