I don't hate you.. I do hate the current Celtic Brass.. It's all going to work out for me in time/ Stevens and Ainge both are near their last breath. Next i'll blame Wyc.. Maybe James can put together a syndicate of former players and buy the damn team. We were lied to and continue to be lied to. . Ainge said in 4 or 5 years we would be contenders with all our great picks. Stevens is a great coach was another lie.. If you were a miner in Cali in 1859. You would have a sack of worthless fools gold and probably be happy till ya got to the Gold Assay Office and found out it was worthless. Were further away not closer.. I hope we lose all our games the rest of the season and get a 10 pick. After Anige and Stevens are sent packing..They can't pick their nose.. If you want to overthrow the big dogs then I wouldnt stop you, just not sure how much difference itd make

Why are you guys talking like players should give less than 100% at the NBA level? These guys get paid tons of money to work 35 minutes (maybe) for 72 nights (this season). And their work is to PLAY A GAME. If these guys cannot give 100% ALL THE DAMN TIME, then something is wrong with them. Why would we expect anything less than 100% all the time? According to Maxwell, it's not really possible to play your best game every night. Alot of nights wont be your best, but at least give 100% effort or close to it. I know some guys get a little lazy during the regular season, especially veterans...But not when their team is falling apart

NBA players should be expected to give 100% effort each and every time they step on the court.
Their effort is one thing, they actual play is another.
You can give 100% but miss every shot and play aggressive defense and rebound.
But we have players who, as my coach used to say, "half-ass it" and still don't rebound or play defense to boot.
That's lacking the effort and I'll never understand that.

That is truly a telling stat. A lot of that simply equates to wasted possessions. BTW, what was Carmelo's rank in his prime?

JT is out for tonight. He needs some rest, that's a given, but I agree with petey when he says he's been lazy and lackadaisical at times - He's far too talented to fall at a trap like that. He does not need to give 100% every night to succeed, but he cannot give less than 50% - The league is too talent loaded to overcome that. You have to give 110% every game to even have a chance to win a ring.... that an a whole lot of luck falling into your lap.
Otherwise forget about it.
That hunger starts at the very top of an organization.
Red had it. That was his secret.
As GM, Danny had it once... and then it was gone.

I would not say I am a math expert (I actually might be, but that’s a different story), what I meant was our Jays should come out every night to win it, but not for the life of them in regular season. It’s perfectly ok if they gave their 90% every night during regular season, as long as they give their 101% come playoff time. It is however unacceptable if they play like Antoine Walker. It never will.

Thats a good question, I have used the ISO stat thing on the NBA website but I never counted out the ranks. I have given the %s though in the past and he was definitely low. I got these from @john.karalis cause WEEI posted a story about it. Not sure if they are perfectly accurate, but based on what ive looked up, id say theyre close Heres where I get mine www.nba.com/stats/players/isolation/I bet thats where he got his as well, he probably just counted down on the two categories Tatum was way down the list in. Cause on this site hes 10th in frequency and he shoots 34% on his ISO touches

I'll give you that too. Though Rondo, a superbly unique player himself, played even Lebron at a draw at times, albeit usually only at big games, and not systematically. Every once in a while he delivered but that was not enough. If only he behaved himself and learnt to play at his strengths. Which he almost never did. He could have been a Jason Kidd, but he did choose to become the Rajon Rondo.

These are tough times all around. The NBA schedule has been compressed this year. There are Covid protocols in place. Injuries galore. It is just tough to get up, be excited and give 110% day in and day out. Heck, I am feeling that in my work and that has no intense physical component.
The only good thing these bipolar Celts is that they have become like the stock market. In some small window, everyone's analysis and strategy fits, making them feel like experts.
