Hedley practice and games, two different things. When there is a will there is a way. You want a guy to learn on real life situations or you think that by practicing it should be enough?

On Nesmith - he was hurt his last year at Vandy. He came into the league out of shape. Add no training camp or summer league, and that's why he didn't play at the beginning. When he first got minutes, he didn't play well. Sporadic. 33% from the floor, and 32% on threes SHOULD NOT get you minutes, if your forte is shooting. Now that he is playing better, he will play more. Brad has been saying for weeks he likes his work ethic, and he'll soon be given a chance. Correct decision by Brad. On Tacko - so, on one hand, our GM can't draft to save his life, and on the other, he finds Tacko after 30 teams passed on him TWICE? So, does that make him a good finder of talent now? I don't get some of the comments on here. Even after a win, some guys are miserable Monday morning Point Guards! Perhaps there is a reason Tacko went undrafted? Last year, as a two way player, he was a side show act, only in at garbage time. This year? He has improved, but obviously not to the point where he is reliable? Do we know what he's like in practice? NOPE. Do we know if he understands defensive rotations? NOPE. Would he be in the G League again this year? YES. He's still on a two way contract. What is 5 mins per game going to get in this kids development? He needs to play. Frankly, some of you have a hell of a nerve saying this kid should be playing - or anyone should. If they could "play", they would. On Stevens - again, it's a players league, and he doesn't have the players. NOT ON HIM. In precisely how many games this year has he had a FULL squad? Conference Finals 3 of the past 5 years, with sometimes marginal talent. 2 games from the Finals last year, with two cripples in the starting lineup. NOPE, IT'S NOT THE COACH. PERIOD so much for the whole ots ok to disagree but then show anger on your post and diminish others opinions. You speak as if we were winning or as if Kemba was great. Pleasseee. I'm speaking like it's not on the coach. He's an excellent coach, and we're lucky to have him. If he got fired, he'd be out of work about 5 seconds before someone else hired him, and the guy we got wouldn't be as good. Critique the players all you want, I have no problem with that. But it's not on the coach. He didn't cause Kemba to get hurt, and he didn't replace Rozier with Kemba. He only plays who he has in front of him

I see very little positive with our team to go even 1 round if we make it to the playoffs. Tristan was not a great choice averaging 6.6 pts and 8 rebs…I wanted 10 pts and 12-15 rebs. We lost Hayward. Brown has been terrific and Tatum inconsistent…says he is still affected by having had the virus…could be? Kemba too…inconsistent. Yup, Smart is injured but when not, many complain he should not be shooting 3s as regularly as Brown & Tatum. The real only bright spot has been rookie Prichard I think. To change the subject, here are the 5 most players discussed in possible trades. With the $28.5 million TPE, the largest in league history, should Ainge consider using it or some of not for one of the following mentioned as possible likely to be traded? Andre Drummond (Cleveland), Bradley Beal (Washington), Harrison Barnes (Sacramento), Kyle Lowry (Toronto, Nemanja Bjelica (Sacramento). I read somewhere that the Lakers were interested in Drummond with Davis out injured. I think Davis will be back in month or so and even without Drummond they are probably favored to repeat. Drummond would really make them unstoppable, I think, and whom do they really have to trade for him? The Lakers made a great addition with Dennis Schröder. He is an energetic guy who can should 3s and also drive to the basket. Also, read that the Clippers might trade Lou Williams. Unfortunately he is 34 years old. I don’t know how many times he has come off the bench and scored 30 points against us. I don’t know a 6th man presently who score more points. I’d take him if we could get him cheap. Tristan Thompson actually averages the expected numbers from you in a per 36min basis: He averages 6.7 points and 8.4 rebounds in only 22min playing time. Round this out to 36min and you've got 10.8 points and 13.5 rebounds. Actually 13.5 rebounds per 36min are his CAREER-HIGH.

More than a year removed from his last NBA appearance, and nine months after surgery that he says fixed a bone-on-bone condition in his right hip, Thomas has games to play. “My ultimate goal is to play in the NBA as soon as possible,” Thomas, 32, told The Associated Press. “This allows me to compete against other professionals, represent my country at the same time — which is an honor and a privilege — and ultimately show NBA teams that I’m back to myself and I’m 100% healthy. That’s why I chose to come here. When Team USA brought it to me, it was a no-brainer.” – via Tim Reynolds @ Associated Press Top Rumors, Free Agency, Isaiah Thomas

The writer went on to assure readers he wasn’t a Green Teamer. He really likes Danny Ainge, but he believes Ainge swung and missed by not trading for Myles Turner this summer. He doesn’t think Romeo Langford is headed for the Hall of Fame. He gets frustrated with Marcus Smart’s shot selection sometimes. But he does enjoy rooting for this group of players he described as highly intelligent, respectful, and decent human beings. “I’m completely at peace with riding this group of players into my own sunset,” the post read. “I’m very grateful to have them to watch.” – via Boston Globe

Providing Lansford ever gets healthy.. Why would we keep both.? Lansford's trade value has diminished. Thats a big deal.. We have few trade pieces.. RWiil and PP we can't afford to lose.. Semi GWill Green Edwards and Waters won't fetch much. Makes it a lot harder for Ainge to trade..

Smart, Thompson and Theis won't get us much, either. Kemba is our big trade piece, unless we want to give up 2-3 FRP's. He has not shown a willingness to do that, but, seeing the last two drafts have given us role players, and hurt players, he might want to push the envelope this year. For the record, I don't want to trade Smart, but the only two untouchables should be Brown and Tatum

He has more responsibility than you make it sound.
If players "tune him out" is that not his responsibility? If the team takes on his persona (nothing seems to bother or anger him - lack of fight) is that not on him? Toughness and consistency s/b traits developed by the head coach ... I don't see it in him or his team. He's hasn't been great on matchups and roster rotations and fails too often to call timely TO's or contest referee calls. Maybe he's good at X's & O's and setting up a play out of a TO at a critical point in the game but how good is he on adjusting on the fly and teaching/developing his rookies?
Lots of questions and few answers ... just because Ainge picked him and will stay with him, just because he'd be snapped up if fired by any one of a half dozen teams in need and just because he is liked by Pop, remember this: he's yet to win COY despite all the praise he gets from a majority of GM's that has not voted for him or those (like you , fans, media & his co-workers/bosses) who are unable to vote.
I might as well be from MO ... "Show Me!"

"Show me" that they've tuned him out. Again, who of us is practice. How do we know he doesn't get on players? Spo is very laid back. Ever see Spo yell at Jimmy Butler? "He hasn't been great on matchups and roster rotations" - ah, says you. Let's take tonight, for example. No Kemba and no Theis. So, Coach, what rotations should he use? Will Teague play? Nesmith? Will Pritchard start?. I will give you time outs. Many times I have felt he should call TO and he didn't. Again, with the rookies!!! Nesmith is THE only rookie he has not played. And he is starting to play now. Prove me wrong!! GM picks the players. Coach uses them. I will not argue with his record over the past 5 years, and I would like to see proof that they HAVE tuned him out.........not "may be tuning him out."

On smart, I just don't think we can lose our only real floor General. he can be replaced, but not by anybody on this team and not by anybody in that trade. Smart has no replacement. PP is a fine backup but doesn't have the passing skills of Smart and can't guard the big PGs. Smart was where we wanted him before he got hurt.. More assists less bad threes. What exactly was Ainge thinking when he signed Walker ? We have a 6'0'' shooting guard with no other talents.. 32 mil should buy a whole lot more.. This mistake coupled with the fact we burned up a lot of picks on what turned out to be not so good bench players should have his head on the block.

Tacko over GWill is how I feel. But not over Thompson, Theis or TimeLord........that's how I feel Thompson is probably on the trading block.. If not he should be, Gets some rebounds but plays poor defence and can't score.. Turner is having a fine year. His price tag has gone up while Thompson's has gone down..

Jaren Jackson & Aaron Gordon or Andre Drummond.
Jaren can be center or PF.
I prefer to make him a scoring PF and have Drummond there for put backs.
