The hardest part is getting in early enough where its an obvious slam dunk. Which seems to be pretty impossible for me. So the game for me is trying to figure out if I should still buy in when its up 20% or even 400% in some cases.
After the initial pop there's usually consolidation which takes place in the form of "W" with the right side lower than the left. This usually equates to a 50% retrenchment of the entire move up. Occasionally you get 62% or even 75% but any stock that moved up with strength/volume probably won't correct more than 50%. Bottoming can be a sharp reversal where you see a violent drop only to go from red to green or a basing manner that takes the form of a saucer or sometimes straight line the turns up on volume.
If you can identify those movers and watch for the correction ... usually 20 mins to an hour or two, you'll do quite well. On occasion the market loses interest and it could take a few days so it pays to be patient.
I had one pop late this afternoon that I'd been sitting on for 5-7 days but once it went it was a rocket ... $ITRM went from $1.35 to 1.55 into the close and kept creeping up after hours until the close at 8PM where it peaked at $2.54 before settling at $2.40 for an 80% increase.

Ive been tinkering around with building algorithms myself. Me and the small team I assembled have made some progoress. No output yet though, still in the data collection phase. Trying to sure up our incoming data channels. Does this involve just identifying factors, calculating their correlation, then combining into one weighted equation? I wish. Its not this sophisticated but we're hoping to improve upon it. At preset, it "prints" a bunch of web pages to a database then tries to find a correlation between mentions and increase.

you're just parsing through chat text and tracking the number of times somoene says the stock's name as like a trend line? mentions could be positively or inversely correlated to price, but likely correlates to volume either way. But you would know why peeps were talking about the stock already
i know nothing about finance or markets. just never was my thing. I figured if I was to get rich it would be building a business, not playing the meta data. Now later in life I'd be more interested in market analysis and number crunching in general. I don't really like the crunching per se, I like identifying factors and guessing the correlation. My second major was marketing research

Applying some of the things Im learning from Admin, ATOS looks like a decent buy point. Ready to break out from the pullback.

So...if the first jump was 50%, then came the 10% profit-take, might see a swing-up of 30% in the near-term

So...if the first jump was 50%, then came the 10% profit-take, might see a swing-up of 30% in the near-term Look for the W pattern on corrections ... down, up half of the loss then down again until either gaps are filled or at least a total correction of 50% of the entire gain from trough to peak of latest rally.
ATOS is just starting it's correction ... most bull moves have 5 legs up and correct in three legs (dwn-up-dwn). They end on double tops or blow-off tops when it rises like a rocket and ends in the red that day or whatever timeframe you are charting ... I use 10 mins on a 2 day chart.
Watching $EZGO right now as it just took off from $8ish to $10ish and is forming a bull flag ... hoping for $13 (I'm in around 8.50)

$ACB now $18 ... I rec'd it to you at $13 Yeah .. I seen that.. Reefer stock wasn't on my bucket list till now. Question.. Mexico is legalizing reefer this year.. Just waiting on a vote . AMLO said he would sign it.. Got any clue who might move in there.? . Exclude Mexican companies they won't be the leaders.. Canada or the US . Can't find much imfo. Prominent marijuana players Aurora Cannabis (ACB) and Canopy Growth (CGC) have been working to capitalize on this opportunity. In December, Aurora announced it was acquiring Farmacias Magistrales, marking its entry into Mexico’s medical marijuana market. 10 to 12 billion goes to someone...

There's a big supplier based out of Central America just merged into a "SPAC" that will distribute world wide if my research was correct. If memory serves me, the spac is headed up by former Sec of State George Schultz so it's a U.S. company. Clever Leaves Holdings Inc. cultivates, produces, and sells pharmaceutical-grade cannabinoids. It invests and operates in Colombia, Portugal, Germany, the United States, and Canada. The company was founded in 2018 and is based in New York, New York. They think they can be a low cost grower with ops in Columbia but a weed guy disputes that theory so I can't say if/when they become profitable but the stock ran today ... $CLVR (warrants $CLVRW)

Full Disclosure: We have rallied tremendously on talk of U.S. Federal Law changes to come and NY state due to legalize soon as well. Talk online is that traders at Wall Street Bets intend to pump the sector to force the shorts into covering by Friday. If true, they've already started buying as everything weed related flew today and even more after hours. I sold my $CRON and watched it rise another $1.50 after I sold it. $CLVR was up $7 to $20 and the warrants up $4 to $7+ ... not sure if I'd buy into a spec bubble (anticipating a short squeeze) or wait for a correction ... you're on your own as I will play it as a day trade based on what's happening early Thurs morning. And I may opt to use a newer issue that's producing med products based on cbd out of Jupiter FL - $JUPW ($8-9)
Another med related (cancer pain etc) issue has a shelf filing or such being issued tomorrow ... a 3MM registered direct offering of shares with warrants at $4.27/sh or so while it traded up today seemingly ignoring the dilution tomorrow as it closed at $5.65. Six weeks ago it hit $14-15 and then consolidated when they did a first direct offering of 2.2MM shares at $4.50/sh and no doubt word of those add'l shares and then this week's helped to bring it back to earth. Good volume today (10MM) so I'm watching that first to see if it dips down to that $4.30-4.50 level once the additional shares are dumped ... if so I'm a buyer. Oops, almost forgot to give you the ticker: $ENVB
