Kemba's defense is so horrible that his offensive contributions are cut in half... You also said it's a sure thing Hayward would opt out and re-sign with the Celts. I get it, you don't like Kemba. And I'm the one who beats dead horses?

Hayward was our best player, and still would be if he was here...what are you talking about?!...Ainge screwed up... According to you, Hayward was our best player. But that's just your opinion. Kemba and Tatum made the All-Star team last season. Jaylen was snubbed. Hayward didn't even come close. You don't have the numbers to prove that Hayward was the team's best player. If it's true that Hayward was the best player then why did Tatum become 3rd Team All-NBA and not Hayward? Just because you say Hayward is the best player, that doesn't make it true. Trump also said the election was rigged. Thanks for the laugh, the Trump comment was great...I dont know but my eye test says the yutes are still developing, and yeah Hayward was basically hurt for the whole time he was here so I think he owed us a year for free...however I do think he played with more finesse, poise, experience than anyone else on the team...

This is the unfortunate truth... You do realize that if the Celts win a championship within 3 years, you would be sharing the crow with Che, right? I would be more than happy to be wrong...

True. While Hayward was not the best player on the Celtics, he was the best all-around player. If Hayward was a PF like Harrison Barnes, he would be perfect on the Celts. It was just not a good fit and Hayward leaving is proof of that.

KD scores 36 and LeVert gets 21, but the Nets still lose to OKC.
Like I said, it's a long season.

That's kind of funny when they were like 8-0, our High School coach told me he could make the case that they were the worst undefeated team at 8-0 in history

If that's the case then why did Jaylen agree to give Ainge a hometown discount? And why didn't Jayson Tatum hesitate to sign a new deal with the Celts? Ainge didn't screw up, Hayward just didn't want to be the 3rd or 4th option. Some of us here kept saying Hayward is redundant. The end result proves it. They offered Hayward a contract right? If they thought he was redundant why offer? I know that you are a little on the defensive here. But what is your opinion?
I think that Hayward would have made an excellent trade piece once he lost his ability to dictate his destination. Why wouldn't they offer him a contract?
I firmly believe that Hayward's presence, as talented as he may be, was a source of Chemistry problems. Incidentally, I would have preferred to keep Hayward and trade Kemba if he had signed. Having Tatum, Brown, Kemba AND Hayward made for an unbalanced team.
Lets hear what you think. And lets keep it at basketball analysis and not personal stuff.

Money was not the issue. Hayward wants to be the man. With the Celts, he would just be the 3rd or 4th option. There's very little chance he would be an all-star again. But if he joined Charlotte, he would automatically become the team's best player. Hayward was our best player, and still would be if he was here...what are you talking about?!...Ainge screwed up... Now why do I believe that you got hit on the head the last time you went surfing!!
Hayward was our best player? Getting a little carried over?

Too bad we couldn't have traded Gordon Hayward for Aaron Gordon before we lost him for a TPE.

Thats fine, im here to talk basketball. I think they clearly liked Hayward if they offered him another contract. I dont necessarily think hes a great player at this point due to injuries but hes still a really good one, and one that has a skill set that the Celtics dont really have (besides smart). At the end of the day, I agree if they couldve gotten rid of Kemba instead that wouldve helped. Hayward definitely didnt like being a 3rd/4th option, idk if that caused chemistry issues or that affected his play though. In a playoff series I am of the belief that the more talent you have the better and he was a really good player when healthy. I think he couldve been left on the floor with the 2nd unit alone and ran the offense through him and they wouldve been productive. At the end of the day I think the Celtics go as far as Tatum and Brown will take them, same as last year as well. I dont think they failed last year becuase of Haywards presence. I think the other two just need to keep developing into the best players they can and hope they become dominant players in the league and then building around them I just dont get how having Hayward makes them redundant, but then getting Harrison Barnes to play the 4 isnt. Getting different Role players to me isnt putting this team over the edge, Its Tatum and Brown. I simply dont think they are ready to lead this team to a championship, but if theyre both here for a decade then eventually they will. Then we can start talking about how the role players fill the cracks in the team, etc
