Harden getting lit up by the national media for losing his cool and committing such blatant offensive fouls...too funny...and yeah Tatum's block as well probably added to Haden's frustration...Tatum is the man...Smart gets big props for last night though...way to play D and get into his opponents head... FYI: Just remember, this is about the final 2 mins of the game. Many more were missed or ignored committed by the Rockets during the entire game ... NBA: Refs missed calls at end of Celtics-Houston gameSteve BulpettAccording to the NBA’s further review, James Harden and the Rockets had nothing to complain about on the two offensive fouls Marcus Smart drew on him in the final seconds of the Celtics’ 99-98 comeback victory Thursday night. But two no-calls likely cost Houston dearly. Before Smart fed Jayson Tatum for a dunk that got the Celts within 98-97, the Celt guard moved his feet without dribbling. The league’s Last Two Minute report also states that Al Horford moved his pivot foot as he started the drive to the right block that produced the winning hoop. After Tatum scored, Smart took a hit from Harden as the latter tried to move near the baseline. According to the league’s report, “Harden (HOU) dislodges Smart (BOS) from his legal guarding position.” The same phrase was used on Harden’s offensive foul after Horford scored. The Rockets were about to inbound the ball with 3.7 seconds left, and referee Tony Brothers stepped in to settle both Harden and Smart down as they jostled. When Trevor Ariza was given the ball to make the inbounds pass, Harden moved from the free throw line toward Ariza, sending Smart down again. www.bostonherald.com/sports/celtics/2017/12/nba_refs_missed_calls_at_end_of_celtics_houston_game

Let's face it, we benefitted greatly by the questionable officiating, especially in the final two minutes. Every call, and non-call went our way.
We benefitted greatly by NOT having two traveling calls missed by officials.
However, the game was not decided in the final two minutes. When you lose a 26 point lead, you deserve to lose. That's not about officiating.

Pud I thought Smart did a great job of annoying and provoking Harden into pushing off on both occasions. I just thought overall the game was poorly officiated. When both Morris and BS got technicals, I felt the officials got too emotional in assessing those technicals. And Tony Brothers really was demonstrative with calling both offensive fouls on Harden. My biggest takeaway from the game was our resilience in that we never quit.

My biggest takeaway from the game was our resilience in that we never quit. To his credit, Brothers did try to calm the waters a bit stepping between Smart and Harden after Horford made the jump hook with seconds remaining... but Harden refused to be mollified.... going right after Smart and showing his total disdain for the rules of the game, daring the refs once again to make a call. And Brothers called him out on it, revealing little sympathy for Harden's sense of entitlement. Pud

So Harden is a bad guy and not so brightSmart got in his head and on his body.. Most everyone in the league has known that for years.
The officiating was horrible during the whole game. None of the does anything to secure Smarts future here.
You would think Smart made the winning shot in the 7th game of the finals.
Earth to Pud. Get real most here can take or leave Smart. My guess is Ainge is also one of those folks.

Maybe at playoff time we can hire Tonya Harding to break one of the three officials leg so Smart can resume his manhandling.
This game start to finish was called horribly and we were the lucky team.

Marcus Smart is our Iguodala. If the Celts can keep him on a similar contract, he will be worth it. Any better replacement will be more expensive and we know that a team can pay only so many expensive players. It will be important to keep Marcus on the team with a reasonable contract.

Your offer would be what Dubby? Iguodala got a 3/48. I would have thought the Celtic's offer this year would have been about the same.
No offer from Bos? Does Smart want more he is a lot younger? Rozier will have to be traded to give Smart minutes when Hayward returns. Larkin is a one and done he can have his 7 minutes.
Either way another three year rookie deal for a first pick round AND by by we don't need ya. This is becoming the norm for Ainge. Trade or walk .

Iggy was a free agent and got offers from Clippers and Spurs before resigning with the Warriors. I believe the Dubs were offering 3/42. I think that 4/56 with perhaps a player option for the 4th year can get it done. Smart is restricted. So the Celts can match offers. Maybe the Nets can offer Smart more. They have the room and only Raptors draft pick. But I am not sure that they will value Smart.

All I know is if we trade Marcus, prepare for him to come back to the garden and go 6 for 10 from three
So far every player we've traded has. Even freaking David whatever his name was that went to the mavs

Even freaking David whatever his name was that went to the mavs Dwight Powell? Hell... even R9R lit it up a couple of times upon returning. I'd be a lot more concerned about Smart's ferocious defense if traded or let go. He has plenty of chips on his muscular shoulders already. Are we looking at DPOY this year? Certainly All-Defensive Team. Pud

DPOY would balance out his WTPS award . He's 0 for 5 at the half today,
If this continues I gonna jump on the let Smart go bandwagon. I'm trying to hang on but 0 for 5 against the Nets?
Stevens needs to tell Smart. No Mas Trey's
