Check out what turns out to be Scal's "play of the game" at the 1:10 mark. Scal was overheard saying.... "Why is it I love Smart soooooo much in the 4th quarter?" Indeed! When the game's on the line......!!!!!!! Pud How much will Danny pay to keep him Pud? Dunno.... lets see how the season plays out. His offense has been sporadic and that is being kind but hustle and intangibles are off the charts. Even Marcus would agree that his offensive woes are disappointing. If he leaves.... I've got a real problem. The Leon Powe debacle was bad enough. This would be worse. Pud

In other good developments, lets root for a Memphis win tonight. If that happens, Lakers will be tied for 2nd fewest wins with multiple teams. They may have to do some salary dumps at trade deadline. Their choice will be to play for wins this year or position for free agents next. I think they position for free agents.

And now the Kings beat the Cavs to go ahead of the Lakers in win total. Go Grizz!

Quite a day! Celts win. Mavs, kings and Grizz all win. Atlanta wins and is 4-6 in last 10. Mavs appear to be playing well. Grizz will get better when Conley returns. Lakers are dealing with some injuries as well. They will likely end up in the 5-worst group.

Nice, gratifying win. Playing short handed, we played well. Curious that is was Larkin and not Rozier out there at the end, but Larkin played really well. With everyone else losing, we go back up by 2.5. See everyone in the New Year. Go Celtics!!

Important to note that Wiz turn around and lose by 15 to Atlanta tonight.
Cleveland loses to Sacramento pretty bad. Other teams are hitting their walls now and I expect Cleveland to have some losses now too.
Okc is starting to put it together. I believe all things considered we're a better team than Toronto.
Think how good our conditioning will be when we do get recovered a bit.

Houston comes in losing 3 straight but off since Christmas. Could get ugly. Be ready to play the bench and rest the starters. Vegas has celtics winning by 1.5. I'd be so shocked if we won this game. I'm more like minus 10.
Our only hope would be if we could get Morris and Brown back. Otherwise I'm thinking call up the G league and mail this one in.

The Sac pick the following year will likely be better. Bogut is starting to play better and is seeing a little more time.and when they are healthy again which might not happen is the only reason I give it a 10%. They will do everything in their power to avoid giving us the pick. 10 to 1 today Dubby .

Scal was watching what game? Smart scored how many points in the 4th quarter? 0 point 0 assists Did snag a couple loose balls for rebounds.
Larkin and Rozier both outplayed him. last night. He's likely gone just like the midget. With Hayward back next year and another poor year of heaving bricks everynight. By By

Yeah, we need more consistent scoring night in and out from that position. Skinny marcus seems to have actually regressed if anything. I guess it depends on what he's willing to take. He may play his way into a contract that works for us. Then it will just be a question of minutes.

Both Brown and Morris need to sit out till they are 100%. It's not playoff time. Or they can continue to play like Thomas did last year and fail at playoff time. Why make the same mistake again?

I expect some team to go the Evan Turner route and give him 16 to 18. Smart has hit his ceiling he is what he is. He doesn't deserve 30 plus minutes a game. Great bench player if you have 4 other shooters on the floor.

Hacking Dwight was a good strategy tonight, esp for a tired team like us. It also kind of takes the refs out of the game in a way. Who can we hack tonight?

Sure did and Jordon once again proves he has no clue how to put together a team. Dwight is a loser in any town.. Makes me thankful for Ainge at times.
Good luck on hack a win tonight they shoot 80% from the FT LINE. Harden will get 12 attempts at least most on fouls by Smart.

Who else is going to guard him if Jaylen can't go. Perhaps he's not that hurt. Maybe we were saving some guys since the game's on national TV tonight. I expect us to get some helps from the refs.

Smart would be my first choice but I look for him to be in foul trouble in the first half. Who's left?
Rozier ? He'll have his hands full to. Larkin can't guard anyone.
Brown has been having the same issue for a few games as I understand it. I would rest him for a couple games and Morris has even bigger issues.
My point. Don't be dumb like last year and rest some players like the Cavs and other teams do during the regular season,
The playoffs are more important than how many total wins we have. I expect you agree. Others here i have no clue anymore.

I just don't think you can on national TV. Otherwise I've been calling for rest.
Anyway three days should be enough rest for Brooklyn and then 3 more before Cleveland. We can afford to give it all tonight, whatever that is.

If the Lakers pick does not convey this year, I will make a post on this forum acknowledging that you had predicted that while I, with my cheerleading mindset, was believing that the pick will convey. Since the odds are 10 to 1, if the pick does convey, you will have to write something 10 times bigger. Perhaps that I am basketball analysis god. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Works for you? Basically, I am thinking of what the Lakers need to do. They have to create cap space. They are not signing Lopez next year. They need to play their younger players. Maybe Lopez asks for a buyout. Maybe, they trade some of their assets just to get rid of Deng. They don't have their pick no matter what. Keeping it from the Celts should be last on their priority list.

Looks like JB is out today. I think that the Celts get up for this game. Somebody has to play inspired basketball.

Yes its a friendly bet and I hope your right. I was going to suggest a meal at a restaurant in San Fran. The pick of restaurant to the winner. I have a meeting in San Jose with Greenpeace in mid April and have friends to visit in Humboldt and Butte counties.
Your right first priority is cap space and the young players will get a lot of time. Walton also has to show Magic he can win some games to.
I looked over their schedule I see them with about 24 more loses. Just guessing of course but I think they will fall to the 7th or 8th. Yes I'm aware I always pick the worse case scenario.
Bottom line. I see two weeks minimum in Cali we can settle then.

It probably won't be Marcus then, as he'll have his hands full. Someone like Rozier is going to have to come in and get hot.

Oh no not Gerald Green!
Just saw we picked up Anthony Bennett for the claws. Any hope for the former number one? Maybe the golden touch of Brad Stephens, the "great physician " of coaches if you'll allow me that liberty.

Bennett has some skills and is decent rebounder. From what I have seen he just doesn't have a clue how to play the game especially on defense. The Nets let him go it's gonna take a Marcus Welby MD.or more.
. Never say never however I would give him a look to.
