I set this chat board up for Celtic emigrants from BDC ... It's the latest in free forums with modern features and is mobile user friendly as well. It's a clean, fresh site and if members want to extinguish pop-up ads that can be done with a fee but probably not necessary. BDC recommended that the mods set up their own boards at this site or referred users here to do so themselves. I'll post a thread shortly but want to get this started so we have 2-3 options to decide upon.

There are three ways to replay ...
1) this "Quick Reply" box under the post you are responding to ... or
2) the "Quote" box at the top right to see the message you are responding to ... or
3) the "Yellow Reply" button to the right of this "Quick Reply" box. Using the Yellow Reply box enables all the edit buttons where you will find the "Insert Video" pick ... posting a video this way is best as you just need to make the pick and paste the URL then the Insert bottom on bottom right.

I added a sports news ticker but prefer one that provides roundball only news and scores ... if I find one, I'll replace the current one up now.
If any mobile users find this news ticker interferes with usability, let me know and I will remove it.

ty BB8 for nudging me to sign up and accepting me. I have a couple questions (non urgent), if anyone knows...
Is this the only celtics spot on freeforums.net ? Just curious, not looking to ditch
If we get a Bruins spot up and running, what would be the easiest way to navigate around?
TY again, looking forward to exchanging ideas. Glad to see that my boy jgallag is here.

Just curious, not looking to ditch If we get a Bruins spot up and running, what would be the easiest way to navigate around? TY again, looking forward to exchanging ideas. Glad to see that my boy jgallag is here. Drew, nice avatar! I searched the directory (found in the "help" button) and came up with a site for each of the Patriots and Red Sox. I have posted them (for easy access) in the white welcome ticker. As soon as I find a Bruins site or one is started I will place that link in the ticker as well. I'm not sure why they have two three forums (Pro, Free & Boards) but I assume that the Pro site may have to pay for membership while this forum is free. I think it is free because there may be pop-up ads after a 30 day free trial. So members will have to disable their ad blockers at some point or they give us an option to pay for an "ad-free forum" at a cost of $6/month. I'm guessing that's for the entire forum rather than by the member (that may be why there is a "Gift" function). Gifting might be a means for members to support ad-free but I haven't looked into this yet as I didn't think it mattered at the time of setup. I was sure members would prefer the free board rather than paying for the Pro board given a choice. We can cross that bridge when we come to it. So for now, I think ad-blockers don't matter but after our ad-free trial we may have to disable that function in our browsers to remain in good stead of the terms of agreement.

I just checked the support page for freeforums. Proboards has set up freeforum with an ad-free site for 30 days. I have applied for "Relocation Incentives" which will extend that pro-bono service from 30 to 90 days once we have 50 members. I have asked about the use of ad-blocker browsers and the fees to remain ad-free after the 90 day free trial. Once I know what the future cost will be for the forum or individual members to continue access ad-free I will post the info. Again, my thinking is that it will be a forum charge per month but it's possible it could be per member but I think $72/yr per member would be excessive ... we shall know shortly.

I made some changes to the forum, adding the three other Boston Sports Teams.
As a result, I changed the Forum name to Boston Home Court and added the City of Champions banner to better represent the change in direction.
I understand that the Patriots Forum on freeboards has gotten about 150 members in a week but we are doing pretty well here with nearly 50 members. The Pats forum took all their BDC membership with them and they started with a larger base than we did.
This forum is open for guests to sniff around while they run a closed forum.
Hope you like the changes, and with some luck, this will be a catalyst to drive membership and active discussions.
