Indeed until Brad told him to stop ... LOL! I didn't hear a whistle on the White/Mills shove (I have 1 foot in that life boat w/ tinnitus) ... did you hear anything? If so I can't believe the refs would issue a Flagrant on a practice shot ... I didn't hear anything.

Quality win!!
Our team is so good because you can stop one player, and another (White) will step up!
Hope Zinger is okay. I agree we need to finish them next game........BUT, they were really never in this game. Sure we had some bonehead plays, but when we needed to build the lead back up, we did. They only won one quarter.....the last one. And they had to resort to BS to even do that. Guys it's pointless to critique Joe for playing the regulars so many mintues. It's a done deal, and that's how it will be going forward. Moot to argue about it. 8-9 deep for the playoffs. X, Q and Svi will have to wait.

I found this ... Go figure!
After reviewing the play on the monitor, officials assessed Adebayo a flagrant foul 1 for not giving Tatum landing space after his practice shot, much to the chagrin of Adebayo and the Heat. However, the NBA rule book clearly states that officials have the ability to assess technical or flagrant fouls on dead balls if unnecessary or excessive contact occurs.

Murray another "clutch" shot before time expires - a leaner fading left from the elbow to eliminate the Lakers 108-106 for the Nuggets 4th win in the series.

So the Colorado coach said after the game that Murray was awesome, blah blah blah...and then he said that the most amazing statistic was that 'Murray went 0 for 0 in free throws, didn't miss one!'...OMG...in other words, he did not get to take one...the reporters laughed...I imagine he will be fined...gutsy dude...

White did that Monday while scoring a career-high 38 points, with two uncharacteristic dunks in traffic and several contested heat checks. He didn’t make all of the ambitious tries, but he kept putting them up, calling his own number, riding the rhythm as far as it would take him. It was White’s night from the start, and he treated it as such. “Obviously you make a couple, you kind of feel like you got the ultimate green light,” White said. “So you can take some dumb ones, which I did. You just try to not do that. Just kind of continue to play within the flow of the offense and you try to hunt a little bit more. But still trying to play within the flow of the offense.” – via The Athletic Derrick White, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat
"I think when he was aggressive early in possessions coming off stops, pushing the pace, he was able to create some cross-matches, he was really just able to create some space there,” Mazzulla said. “And he’s done a good job of just — we went to some more small-small stuff kind of spaced on bigs, and when we do that, that’s when he has the ability to impact the game.” Even with Porziņģis’ status unclear (more is expected to be known Tuesday after he undergoes further evaluation), the Celtics are now in control of the first-round series after taking both games in Miami. Still, White doesn’t expect the Heat to go quietly. He has seen enough of them in the playoffs to believe they won’t be eliminated easily. “We know they’re not going to quit,” White said. “They’re going to come and attack us this whole series.” – via The Athletic

Justin Kubatko: Derrick White last night: ✅ 38 PTS ✅ 15-26 FG ✅ 8-15 3P It’s White’s NBA career high in points for any game, regular season included. He’s made multiple 3P in 11 straight playoff games, tying the longest such streak in @celtics history. The Boston Celtics took one more step toward eliminating the rival Miami Heat with a convincing 102-88 Game 4 victory Monday to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. But the win might have come with a cost, as Kristaps Porzingis, the team’s starting center, hobbled off the court with a calf injury just before halftime and didn’t return. Porzingis will undergo imaging Tuesday, but early indications are that he didn’t sustain an Achilles tendon injury, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Following the game, Porzingis slowly walked out of the visiting locker room area wearing a gray walking boot on his right foot. – via ESPN Injuries, Kristaps Porzingis, Boston Celtics
Celtics players held out hope that Porzingis’ injury wasn’t serious but also acknowledged that his presence as a floor spacer and rim-protector meant things would change if he is forced to miss time. “All of us, our mindset has to shift,” said veteran center Al Horford, who started the second half in Porzingis’ place. “I talked to Luke [Kornet] and Xavier [Tillman], and let them know that all of us have to be ready to step up and do a little more, because KP was playing so well defensively.” Said Jayson Tatum: “We’re going to have to play different, but it’s a next-man-up mentality for however long [he’s out]. Obviously I don’t know anything [yet] — but it’s next man up. We just have to find a way to win each game.” – via ESPN Injuries, Al Horford, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, Boston Celtics

Brad gets Executive of the Year ... and rightly so!
Celtics’ Brad Stevens Named NBA’s Executive Of The Year by Luke Adams
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has been named the NBA’s Executive of the Year for the 2023/24 season, the league announced today (via Twitter).
In his third season as the Celtics’ head of basketball operations after eight years as the team’s head coach, Stevens put together a dominant Boston roster that posted a 64-18 record, easily the best mark in the NBA, along with a +11.7 net rating, the third-best mark in league history.
Unlike the NBA’s other major awards, the Executive of the Year is voted on by 29 team executives from around the league rather than 99 media members. Stevens received 16 of 29 potential first-place votes, along with six second-place votes and three third-place votes, for a total of 101 points (Twitter link).
The runner-up, Sam Presti of the Thunder, had 47 points, including four first-place votes. Tim Connelly of the Timberwolves also earned the top spot on four ballots en route to a third-place finish (29 points).
Knicks president Leon Rose (27 points; one first-place vote) was the only other executive to earn more than 11 points, though Nico Harrison (Mavericks) and Monte McNair (Kings) also received first-place votes, while Rockets general manager Rafael Stone earned a pair of them. A total of 13 executives showed up on at least one ballot.

Looks like LeBron is going to get another coach fired! All the pundits are blaming the coach, because God forbid they wouldn't want to blame LeBron or AD! The coach didn't miss 9 free throws last night! There's not a coach in the NBA that could have taken this Laker team and beat Denver!!
