When Tatum gets the ball for the final shot, the other 4 should go to the sideline and lay down! The odds were better that we'd tip it in with .01 left, then they were with a Tatum ISO! Yeah, all my son wanted to know is that hopefully Tatum did not go ISO fadeaway on the last shot...we missed the game...he won his baseball game though...best game of the year for him... four for five, and the one out was for an RBI...turned a sweet double play, caught a grounder on a short hop for a quick out to first... On another note, it was great to see my Aztecs put a good scare into UConn!!!...oh, uh, nevermind... The boy has Star written all over him!! Keep working!!

Since Mazz is experimenting, maybe he should try sitting Tatum and Brown at end of game situations and play Pritchard and Hauser!

I sure hope Mazz doesn't do something stupid in the playoffs that contributes to a Celtics loss.
So, he's purposely NOT addressing an opponent's repetitive offensive set (one play) so the Celtics can watch film and strategize on how to defend that one set later?
YOU'RE THE COACH. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO MAKE IN GAME STRATEGY CHANGES TO STOP THE OPPOSING TEAM FROM SUCCESSFULLY RUNNING THE SAME PLAY AND GETTING THE SAME RESULT!!
This guy's an idiot. And honestly, any media member hearing that response who doesn't reply with "Coach, WTF are you talking about?" shouldn't be reporting on the Celtics.
As a coach, it's your job to devise a strategy, IN GAME, to stop the opponent from successfully doing the same thing over and over!

What Murray did on that final shot in OT is exactly what is expected of Tatum in the same situation in regulation. Why can't Tatum show as much poise in that situation to, AT LEAST, attempt what would be considered A GOOD SHOT?
The Celtics, with the ball in Tatum's hand, are unable to even get off a good shot attempt.
We'll continue to NOT WIN in those moments if we continue to depend on Tatum on the final possession of games. Talk about practicing strategies, maybe Mazz needs to run a pick and roll using White and Hauser.
Once Wes Matthews fouled Tatum with ATL's one to give in the last 2 minutes, that turned off the shot clock and gave the Celtics the final possession. Why not sub in Hauser for JB? Tatum will always draw 2 defenders. All he has to do is find the open man and we get off a much better shot.
This isn't rocket science, but we sure make it that hard.

I've said this for a while now, I don't care what our record is. I don't care what our "net rating" is. None of that matters once the playoffs start and our only option this year is the championship.
We've been fortunate to have no significant injuries unlike so many other teams. I think the majority of our games missed were due more to "being safe" than to "serious injury". Also, we've had the benefit of playing the likes of an Embiid-less 76ers, Randle, Robinson and OG-less NYK as well as BKN and TOR just in our division. So, our record means nothing right now!
I CARE ABOUT HOW WE PLAY THE GAMES! For me, the regular season is for building that team chemistry, mental toughness and consistency in all phases of the game that will be required to win a championship.
Winning games tend to mask a team's true faults. And we have many. Our lack of mental toughness is one major flaw. ATL beat us up and "out-physicaled" us. What do we think a healthy MIL is going to do? Our inability to provide any effort on the defensive boards is another major flaw. That's typical of a team lacking mental toughness. We just aren't tough. We aren't physical AND we oftentimes have huge defensive fundamental lapses in the most crucial times of games (leaving our man, not blocking out, etc.).
There is NO WAY the Hawks should beat us twice, once coming back after being down by 30 points. That should not happen. And the Celtics should not lose to a team playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, especially after losing to them after getting up 30.
For me, we should be peaking right now but we seem to be dragging to the finish line. I'd rather see us in peak performance with the idea of scaling down for the final 4 games while we prepare for the playoffs. It's way too early to struggle as the season winds down. That tends to carryover to the playoffs.

Don't think i've ever seen you this pissed off Pete.
In effect Mazz says we lost on purpose.
Watch the Post game interview . Mazz even tell Gary Washburn he can't ask a certain question.
80% of Celtic fans agree with you read the comments. I can't comment because i'm Mr Negative .

Once called the closer 😂😂 JT is a joke of large proportions. If we lack mental toughness, look no further. The guy thats supposed to be the maestro, the one that orchestrates everything, is the wrong pick for that job. I moved on long time ago. We might win because we are stacked not because of tatum. I sound like a broken record I know but ... There is nothing else that really points to a positive outlook going to the playoffs.

This idiot said they beat us on the boards by "cutting behind us and grabbing the rebound". Is this guy a joke?
He also said Tatum got a "GOOD LOOK". What good look did he see? This guy is just delusional!
We purposely left KP on him so we could get the reps. Yeah, just let Murray cook a guy FOR THE REPS to watch on film later.
This guy is an idiot.

Joe Mazzulla defends Kristaps Porzingis tactic in Celtics loss to Hawks By Brian Robb | brobb@masslive.com
Murray scored 43 points on 44 field goal attempts in the win but he played his best basketball of the night in overtime when he made 5-of-8 field goal attempts, all coming on jumpers from the top of the key.
Murray targeted Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis on a lot of those possessions in isolation down the stretch after drawing the big man out to the perimeter after a screen. While the dynamic created a tough defensive assignment for Porzingis in those key moments, Joe Mazzulla told reporters in Atlanta that the move was purposeful from a team perspective.
Four of Murray’s buckets in overtime came on plays either with Porzingis as a primary defender on him or with the Celtics sending help Porzingis way, which opened the door for an open look on another part of the floor. On Boston’s final defensive play of the game, they subbed out Porzingis for Payton Pritchard to take away the defender Murray had been targeting. Murray managed to hit a contested jumper against Jrue Holiday on an isolation play which ended up being the game-winner.
“We want nothing more than Jrue Holiday against Dejounte Murray at the end of the game,” Mazzulla said.
While Porzingis had a tough time in his stints on Murray, the bigger issue for Boston in the loss for him was on the glass. Atlanta’s bigs dominated Porzingis all night, which led to 28 second chance points for the Hawks.

Allthe Celtic starters had at least 7 rebounds, except JB who somehow couldn't get but 1 rebound! He also didn't shoot any free throws! Chalk it up to a bad game!

Well we've lost 2 in a row, and I'm not real confident about tonight! Considering that at its core this looks to me like a 41-41 team....
...you're concerned that the Celtics may pull an ill advised NBA "hat trick" gearing up for the POs.
BTW, lets pray that the Cs don't face...
.... the high flying Hawks in the 1st round!
