White and Holiday . This game didn't matter. What did matter tonight Greg Whitlock went 6 inning and game up on hit against a high powered Texas lineup.
So they have made him a starter even though they tried that once before and he worked better in relief.
New GM didn't check the history book or consult with Cora?
They needed starters but refused to pay so now it's rob Peter to pay Paul time ... Ugh!
Yeah but he looked good Texas has some great hitters. I see a trade coming for a pitcher but they might need two

I'd rather see Pritchard ISO than Tatum, and I'd rather see Springer ISO over Brown!

Although I love Tillman, and think Springer has potential, has anyone seen Banton's numbers since he joined the Blazers?

I see your point, and I dont want to dismiss it but a SP vs RP is 3x the innings, and end of the day, they prob need him to stay healthy and contribute max innings. I wouldnt be surprised if guys like him, Crawford, Houck, do surprisingly well. Still dont think it gets us in the playoffs though.

Yeah, Mazz not helping his coach of the year chances. If Im voting for coach of the year, and I see a coach who struggles in third qrtr after the break, Im holding that against him. Bad game for Mazz and for what Petey always calls out (and I dont disagree) not a consistent effort for 48 mins.
Just gotta hope they take something from this humbling loss.

My hot RS take is the pitching will outperform (at least the starting pitching, im worried about the bullpen health) vs expectations (which granted are low) but the hitting will underperform. .500(ish) team, maybe a little under due to stacked AL East. They're no worse than any AL Central team, but that doesnt matter because they arent in the AL Central.
I would probably say: 1. Orioles 2. Yankees (if they get another pitcher, and I think they will) 3. Astros 4. Rangers 5.Blue Jays 6. Red Sox 7. Rays 8. Mariners
3-5 very close. 6-8 very close. Im lower on Rays than most.

Brown and Tatum both 2/7. Hauser 2/10 It's simple. When the threes arn't falling drive to the hoop. Hawks interior defense is suspect at best anyway . So what would you tell the team if you were Mazz? . Keep on with threes or go to the rim? Coach of the year has the best roster it's like Dean Smith with 15 all Americans maybe not a great coach just better players than other teams. I care less about individual awards it's juvenile and petty to me..

I keep saying it.... we lack that mental toughness. We won't win a championship playing the way we play over the course of a full game. And it's not a reaction to last night's game. ATL was without 3 starters themselves.
We've shown a pattern of major collapses all season. We collapsed against MIL, leading by 18 entering the 4th quarter. Our execution and poise, both players and coach, are terrible in late game situations. It behooves me why this team cannot put together a solid, locked-in 48-minute game.
Tatum should NEVER be allowed to play point-forward again. I've never seen a player ALLOWED to literally walk the ball up, dribble 9 times in ISO, and THEN with 3 seconds left on the shot clock, take a brick hero shot! TATUM committed an 8-second violation and literally SEEMED CONFUSED AT TO WHY! HOW DO YOU FAIL TO CROSS MID-COURT IN EIGHT SECONDS WITH NOBODY DEFENDING YOU?
Dominating the watered-down eastern conference and having minimal injuries, unlike other eastern conference teams, has given us a feeling a superiority. We are a long way from a championship.

No team had successfully come back from a 30-point deficit against the team with the best record in the NBA since the Los Angeles Lakers did so against the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 6, 2002.
I think Mazz did get a new record last night.

The coach encourages Tatum to run the show. There’s so many fans out there with ‘Tatum 0’ jerseys on who came to see me play. So I kind of take pride in making sure I’m available as much as I can.”

My take on the Sox is this - they are cheap. I don't know who's worse Henry or Kraft!!
I see them trading Kenley for either a bag of used baseballs, or a 34 yr old injured pitcher. Why did ATL let Grissom go?...............I hope we don't find out.
Pitching? What pitching? Bello will be good, and I've always like Whitlock. But there is no depth, and there are no lefties, unless I'm wrong about that. Murphy is out for the year?
I don't see how this is not a last place roster!

My take on the Pats is this - I predicted this a month ago. If McCarthy is there at 3, they will take him.
Otherwise, I think, and I'm not really a football guy, but I think it's been Kraft all along. As a coach, I can ask this question - IF BB was in charge of the purse strings, then why wouldn't he want to help his team with Hopkins or Jackson? And the answer is - he was never in charge of the purse strings. Kraft set him up to fail by squeezing his butt cheeks together so tightly you couldn't get a needle up there with a jackhammer!!
Mayo may not see a second contract.................cheap, cheap and cheap.
Also, I don't know enough about Drake Maye to say he'd be a good alternative. I'd also be okay with them trading down and accumulating more picks. Why? Because we stink, and only re-sign our own players............

I think Mazz did get a new record last night. Every one knows these regular season games don't mean anything! We have absolutely nothing to play for, we have homecourt rapped up! Mazz was experimenting! I will say this, if we don't win it all, I believe Brown is a goner!
