Best game we have had IMO. We looked confident out there. I enjoyed this win the most. We played as a team and it was not just shooting 3s. Im reminded what you said , "sometimes injuries can be a blessing in disguise". A comment I didnt like (as in didnt hit the like button, not implying that I disliked the comment). I wont go that far. But if we can meet in the middle at "sometimes injuries have a silver lining" that I can agree to. As long as they are short term injuries and not at crucial points (like Brogdons and Tatums game 7 injury last year). Yesterday we got a look at some players and it was a) fun and b) showed that these guys can play when called upon and c) got them some minutes which I feel will help if needed later in teh season (so they arent coming in after a 1/2 season or so of not playing at all, if needed).

Dont forget it was Tatum who was loudly asking for the Celtics to bring in Dwhite.....
When asked why he smiled and said "cuz he's light-skinnned like me" then (turning serious) he said "cuz hes a baller and hes always been a baller"

C's with a lot of players in new roles. WHite starting, Holiday new to the team. Porzingus new to the team. Hauser in an elevated role. PP in an elevated role. still not really in a comfort zone with each other, team is 9-2 with 1 loss in OT and 1 loss by 3 points. after 30 games I assume C's with clearly the best team in the league, with only injury holding them back. I still expect some roster juggling down the road with some big man additions, but plenty of time to enjoy this iteration of the C's until that time Our differential is off the charts. Then the overtime loss...was it a 5pt loss or was it a zero point loss really? I know they count the 5 but we were even through 4q. And Tatums personal differential is even more off the charts.

Tatum is at +181, Jrue is second in the league at +151, Jokic is third with +139. Lets park Jrue aside for a sec, just because he and Tatum are on the court so much together (so theyll have similar differentials). Comparing Tatum to Jokic, Tatum is an extra +42. So the gap between Tatum and the next best guy is the same difference between Jokie and Rudy Gobert , who is 16th!

after seeing old man AL take on Embiid last night maybe the JB for 6th man role guys are right after all? Pingus, Al Tatum, White and Jrue as starters? Let JB lead the bench crew. JB would not be a happy camper! Even though our record is 52 and 30 in games JB has not played in! Also, we've seen what happens to Al when he has to carry the load night after night. Perhaps fresh legs was the key in his success last night. Could he do it again tomorrow night alone? I doubt it.

Anyone know how the in season tournament is going? Anyone care? We have a big one coming up against the Raptors Friday night! I think Mazz should start Pritchard, Svi, Hauser, Porzingis, and Kornet. Wonder if that would get anyones attention? And if Porzingis can't go, Tatum could replace him!

I agree with you He would front rim all his shots , cuz whatevers left in the tank would go towards the D end (an allocation of his energy that I take no issue in)

The only thing I care about it, does it create a scheduling disadvantage for good teams because they will have to play each other extra times assuming they make the final 4 of the tourney? But I guess extra reps against good teams not a completely bad thing. But Id like to completely steal your q and completely redirect to something I do care about (and just found out about) No team in history has ever sent all 5 starters to the all-star game. The warriors one year had 5 starters who had made the all-star team the year before. But never has a team sent all 5 to the all-start team. Do you care about being the first? (I care about this, send DWhite to the all-star team!)

Jokic continues to play throughout the playoffs. Makes everyone better because he is an amazing passer. He fills the stats from points to assists to rebounds, blocked shots. You name it. Not an athletic guy but he gets it done and thats why he has a championship.

JT is 5-2 in game 7s with an avg of 26.7 PPG on an incredible 47.4% from the floor (47.9% from 3). Averaging 9.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks. In the Sixers game 7, Tatum was a +33. Jokic has never been close to that +/- in any of his 4 game 7s. Last year Jokic was +169 in his 20 playoff games (8.45/game on average). For their careers, Tatum is +265 in 94 playoff games 2.81 per. Jokic is +138 across 68 games (a much worse 2.03 per).

Tatum, however, has never had a year when he was +8.65/game on average. So hes never had a playoff year where he had as much impact as Jokic did last year (going by +/- stat, which is admittedly flawed)

On a different note, and because I love numbers, and because it bothers me:
Ben Simmons makes $462.114 PER GAME. Nets are 6-5, that would be 11 games.....ha ha...so he's made a little over 5 mill so far this season.
And yet, he's only played in 6 of the 11 games, meaning he's been paid 2.7 mill this year, so far, to sit. Nice! 6.5/10.8/6.7 SIX guys on the Celtics average more PPG than he does......... Makes me nuts. Hopefully next year will be the last year for him, and this year will be the last for Harden. Then get rid of Kyrie, and the man made of glass, and my BP can maybe start to come down.

Im still of the belief that the double big set us back for years...Slowed us down, prevented Tatum from playing his true position physically....led to turnovers and poor 3 pt defense. It is the main reason I wasnt unhappy to see Ime go (his commitment to the double big). Not for going back to it, although maybe in certain matchups (sixers, nuggets). Because those are critical matchups, maybe use it here and there throughout the season so if we go to it when matchup calls for it, its not something completely unfamiliar. But against it as a default. while I mostly agree, Tatum is now taller, heavier and stronger than in his early seasons. he has improved his shot and is now getting the ref's calls. sure, I would have liked him in that big role sooner, but was he completely ready?

Numbers dont mean anything when it comes to the grand scheme of things. Is not like he matches up the best everyday. We meet alot of mediocre teams that will definitely boost his stats.. Doncic is having a hell of a season already.
