A replay of Wednesday's game vs the Raptors who have everything to play for while the Celtics have no incentive to win this game other than act as a spoiler or getting the bench the minutes to prove themselves ready if needed for the playoffs.
Champagnie has officially signed and will be available tonight and Sunday. C's fans will have to decide if Brad made the right call passing on a potential replacement for Horford in Samanic favoring a developmental wing in Champagnie plucked from the Heat's G-League team in lieu of calling up a veteran in Valentine or Snell.
I've doubted Brad in the past, especially when he gave up so much to get White from SAS, as that trade looked like an overpay given his performance late in the regular season and the playoffs but he was getting acclimated to a new team and his wife had just given birth to his 1st child. This season he's been everything you'd hope for and MOAR!
Champagnie, 21, has participated in 39 regular season games over his two years in the NBA and is currently averaging 2.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per NBA contest while averaging 48.6% shooting from the field and 35.7% from the perimeter.
In 23 games with the Skyforce this season, the 21-year-old has averaged 18.2 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.9 SPG, and 0.7 BPG.
So, that said, I'll give Brad a bye on Champagnie till next season as we really need a wing more than another Big and we did steal him from the Heat who have been very good at finding value in the G-League. The other part of letting Samanic go is that it could be a vote of confidence in Kabengele, a Big that I have liked early on for his energy and athleticism. He's been getting better & better with his perimeter shooting and is more fluid as a defender than Samanic.
As for tonight's game? I'm hopeful that we see just 1-2 periods of the regular starters just to keep them well oiled until the playoffs begin a few weeks from now. Then let's see what our depth can do verses a team wanting/needing a win. This is a game that should bring us JD, Pritchard, Champagnie, Muscala, Kabengele, Hauser and to a lesser extent Grant, Blake and Kornet.
This is a game to put your feet up on the hassock, break open a cold one and chill out. Enjoy the game and go ahead, yell at the refs or some dumbass play by a Celtic if it makes you feel better. We have nothing to lose or gain for that matter ... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be an open thread for members & guests to comment or discuss whatever they feel like talking about.
Enjoy the game!
