How do NBA players decide when it’s time to go? It’s helpful to look to the man who played the most games in league history (1,611 in the regular season and 184 more in the playoffs), Boston Celtic great and four-time NBA champion, Robert Parish. If anyone knows, it’s him. “I think it was my 20th year,” Parish tells the Guardian. That’s when he began to contemplate honest-to-goodness retirement. Drafted in 1976 by Golden State, the 7ft 1in Hall of Fame big man played 21 seasons, retiring officially in 1997 after winning a fourth ring with the Chicago Bulls (he’d won three prior with Larry Bird in Boston). “A telltale sign that your career is done or close to being done is when you have a monster game, and it takes you another seven-to-10 games to have another monstrous game.” 23 hours ago – via Jacob Uitti @ The Guardian Draft, Hall of Fame, Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors

Based on The Chief's criteria, a whole lot of players in today's NBA need to retire. Bye Horford.

11 out of 30
That's the pop quiz for today.
The answer is 11 out of 30.
What is the question?
(Hint - someone alluded to it earlier as a standard of qualification)

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Proving you don't have to be a former player to be an NBA coach. Proving DS will not necessarily make a better coach than Joe because he played 800 games in the league

Proving DS will not necessarily make a better coach than Joe because he played 800 games in the league But most of these guys spend years as an NBA coach, working their way up slowly

But the point was that Damon should have been named coach over Joe solely because he played 800 games in the league. IF he worked his way up, I'd agree.

SO he's talking garbage there sorry. He was chasing rings and games played record as a 10th man . I remember thinking how SAD it was at the time

Regardless of how much money he made in the NBA, wouldn't anyone leave a 200K per year job for 2.2 million?
That's why in the video he was left speechless and in tears ... his ship (career payday) just came in.
Does he ever get that job/paycheck if he isn't an assistant with the Celtics?
Did prime time exposure and filling in as HC for 2 games elevate him in college coaching circles?
Is that why GT wanted him right away? Any there is the recruiting thing ...

.... and the 'Lil Bit of Paradise Trailer Park Association has closed.
The Fleetwood single wide isn't nearly big enough for company.
They're getting ready to tow it anyhow.
And sis is back to huff'n gas since they cut off cable.
Our SNAP allowance for the month is gone...
But hey don't let that stop you, friend.
Come visit anyway.... you hear!
