It would be cool if Neismith gets minutes with brown possibly out a game or two. He needs shooting confidence. He did played great tonight but the nerves got the best of him. Just nerves. He gets past that and he would be a huge asset playoff time. He does bring alot of energy. Could be pur energy guy off the bench

How bout them Lakers!! Bogdanovich would really look good in Celtic Green! Gwill and White both stepped their games up last night! Horford is a lot more valuable to us than what the stats show!

Nesmith is pressing. He's a BUST. Nesmith is a bust. What a dissappointment. He plays hard. Does he practice hard? This was his perfect opportunity and he blew it.
Udoka doesn't seem to agree!

BOSTON — The Celtics held one of the second best offense in the NBA below 100 points for the second time on the past eight games on Tuesday night at the TD Garden. After the game, Ime Udoka credited part of that defensive effort to the his second-year wing Aaron Nesmith.
Nesmith had largely been on the outside of Udoka’s rotation even after the trade deadline cleared out some of the logjam ahead of him with Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford both dealt away. Nesmith has struggled with his shot all year long but found other ways to make an impact during Tuesday’s rally, which stood out to his teammates.
Boston’s bench helped to limit Atlanta to 33 percent shooting overall in the second half, including 2-of-16 from 3-point range. Nesmith was a team-best plus 10 among the reserves, a number which was largely a byproduct of the second half starters opening the third quarter with a 14-0 run.
“We really just said it’s all about just making our offense a little bit easier by getting out in transition and defending with more aggression with less fouling,” Grant Williams said. “We did a great job in the first half of really just being physical, but we were fouling too much. So it was just about adjusting to what the refs were calling as well as putting a little bit more pressure on the guys that were the primary ball handlers and making them not as comfortable as they were. Giving up open 3s at the 3-point line rather than three feet back, a completely different shot.
“I think we just picked up the intensity. That first group did a phenomenal job of coming out with great energy and Aaron did a great job of providing a lift for us as well.”
Grizzlies coming to town
Ja Morant had scored over 42 points in each of his last two games to help lead his Memphis Grizzlies to within a half-game of the No. 2 seed in the loaded Western Conference. The second-year guard will be bringing those talents to the TD Garden on Thursday night in Boston’s next challenging defensive test.
“He’s a dynamic guard,” Grant Williams explained. “Trae is a little more of a deep threat, shifty, versus Ja creates a lot more downhill transition, creates a lot of flow for their team. He’s MVP in my eyes already this early in his career and there’s a lot of tremendous respect to him and what he’s done. And the teams that they have, they play together every single night – Desmond, Jaren – like they’re one of the most fun teams to watch in my opinion.”
Marcus Smart believes the win over the Hawks will help Boston get ready for the firepower that Memphis brings.
“Gets your ready,” he said. “Gets your ready for a team coming in hot, that’s playing very well, got some talented guys. Especially a guy like Ja Morant with his talent and ability. It’s going to take all five of us again to be able to maintain him and his team. It’s a great challenge for us tonight to play against a team in a guy like Trae and his ability to use his speed, his quickness. It’s a good test for us. What better way to start it off with a game like this tonight.”

He aint a bust. Nerves. Not ready after not being played. I think is quite common in players that sit their asses for the longest specially when they are on the higher draft picks. A lot of pressure. Guy has shown signs that he can be better than Langford. He just needs to have the confidence. I would not discard him yet.

Nesmith came in described as the "Best perimeter shooter in the draft". The ONE THING Nesmith has NOT done is show any level whatsoever of a shooting expertise.
He's a ball of energy. He falls a lot and moves so fast but he doesn't really do much. He had a fast break dunk in a game that was the highlight of his season. Outside of that, he has been useless.
He has had spurts of decent play (they've been few and far between), but one would expect at least that, but he wasn't drafted to provide spurts of decent play. He was drafted to showcase those "best shooter in college" skills.
The Celtics have placed such a premium on defense that we're willing to sacrifice having quality shooters because their defense may not be exceptional. I'll take a player like Bogdanovic and work with him on the defensive end. But you just can get solid defense by moving and talking.

He has a better upside than Lansford did .Looked good late last year when he got minutes. Ill venture to guess the change of coach has him a little rattled..

I think he's so much of a bust, that when his rookie contract is up , he may find himself out of the league! What's worse than his shooting, he has zero handles!

Players are under the spotlight much more here than in most NBA cities ... I'm sure these prospects feel the pressure to perform especially when given minutes. Nesmith was a better sniper than Sey and I liked both but I'm not giving up on him to see another team like Miami pick him up and turn him into a star because there's no pressure to impress down there ... patience is a virtue that Boston just doesn't have for the most part. Give the kid a longer rope to hang himself with.

You know, the easiest thing to do as a GM is listen to the college basketball pundits with their scouting reports. Somebody said (and everybody just followed) Nesmith was the best shooter in the draft. The easiest thing to do is simply listen to that and draft Nesmith thinking you drafted the best shooter in the draft.
It takes hard work and a greater ability to evaluate talent to say, "Nah, I'm gonna draft Desmond Bane because he's a better player".
To think DA selected guys like Yabusele, Semi, Young, etc. etc. We need better, more creative talent evaluators.

To me, Nesmith has to slow the game down. He's all over the place. He's too fast. Needs to slow down.

Supposedly Banes wingspan scared Ainge off! With better scouting and a willingness to move up in the draft, we could have Banes and Herro!

Was this when Gallinari simply turned around and hit a jumper over Nesmith because he was just too small. Or was this the play when Nesmith got called for a foul for driving his knee into him while posting him down low? He did it twice but no call but when he did it a third time, maybe a bit harder, the foul was made. Did Gallinari make two FTs? Nice picture but the results of this pic were "advantage ATL".

When he starts hitting those threes with consistency you'll have a top shelf 3&D player like you've never had before ... patience grasshopper.
