Doc may be a nice guy but I am not a Doc lover. Might have been had we beaten LA in 2010. Yup, I know we lost Perkins in Game 6 and in the finals they got 42 foul shots to our 18 and just 21 in critical Qtr #4 when we had a 13 pt lead end of Qtr #3. Doc needed to tell Rashid Wallace that he needed to be in the post at all times getting rebounds and not shooting 3s as we had PP, Allen & KG to do that. They killed us with reb advantage and only shot 38% and we did 42% but the extra chances killed us. Gasol schooled KG out rebounding him. I wish we had picked up Gasol after he left LA, Not soft…always liked him. I mean when Kobe shot 6 for 24 or 25% and was MVP it was painful. He’d been a goat had they lost.

Yes indeed...a totally painful recollection...not to mention that Perk got hurt landing on Kobe's foot...accident or not?...

No one wants to talk about our Defense. Go to the Inquirer (phillys newspaper) and no one talks about our D. Doc rivers, nothing. Denial.

I think Philly is in trouble. Embiid will always be a problem, but they lost a lot in the trade, including future maneuverability. Harden is going to be a different problem. the game is away from what he does/did well, never truly athletic, he is now aging and has conditioning/injury issues. we have now seen with 3 different teams, if things are not going his way, he quits on his team. seems an odd fit with both Embiid and Doc.

And the defense has been absolutely top notch the last month or so.... currently ranked 2nd in the league overall right behind GSW.
And who is our defensive leader?
No surprise here.

I had a similar thought as the trade happened.

But the Harden trade was a Daryl Morey move, he wanted him there. next move after they fall in the playoffs will be to fire Rivers and bring in D'Antoni, LOL.

Our backups look like G-League except for Theis. PP can't throw a solid pass. Nesmith driving right into a double team. Can't snag a rebound. Geesh, this unit looks bad. but they’ll still outplayed / out scored the Philly scrubs!

Been thinking about our performance of late. I honestly am not impressed by our recent 9 game winning streak, let alone our play since December 31. In reality, we've played only 3 quality opponents this year, all at home (PHX, CHI, DEN). I am not impressed by wannabe showtime (ESPN highlight) below .500 teams like ATL or CHA. I know you have to play the teams on the schedule but we've been fortunate to play a lot of these "better" teams when they were undermanned and several other just plain mediocre teams.
And we did what we are supposed to do....win against the decent teams and bury the mediocre and undermanned ones. And we're doing it with the type of performances that we SHOULD be doing it with, dominating.
I hope this has brought the team together so that, when we meet up with the "full-strength" Bucks and Heat and Nets and Bulls and Cavs, we can show how improved we are as a team.
We've been dominating essentially with two different teams (pre-trade deadline team and post-trade deadline team-3 games). The common theme is mediocre, terrible, undermanned, and opponents not at full-strength.
I'd like to re-examine our play in mid-March after we've played some teams that "should" be at full-strength. But, for now, let's keep adding to the win column.

I didn't expect them to be a championship contender.

Geesh, this unit looks bad. but they’ll still outplayed / out scored the Philly scrubs! Grant, White, and Theis are good bench players! We still need a scorer off the bench, Dragic or Harris would be great! Pritchard looks like he's afraid to play!
