I actually think they all play hard except for the J's, Langford is soft, Pritchard is scared! Blame has to go to the Coach! KY we should have kept Taco! Now with Bol Bol we coulda had a 7’5 and 7’2 front line! The team can’t be any worse and at least the fans would have someone to cheer for! LOL You are correct...

Drew and I fixed our roster today: We traded Schroder for Coby White PG (Bulls) added Bamba C for Langford & Nesmith or a TPE ($7MM) and a 2nd rd draft pick added Theis C, Wood (PF) and Augustin PG for Horford, RWill and FRDP
Roster: Big Ball - Small Ball
PG> White - Pritchard
SG> Brown - JRich
SF> Tatum - Brown
PF> Wood - Tatum
C > Bamba - Wood
I loved the Schroeder for Colby White idea, but I read today Lonzo has a confirmed torn meniscus and is contemplating surgery putting him out 6 weeks. I imagine the Bulls keep White now, at least to the summer.
Aside from that Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?

Tatum has missed his last 11 threes! Fultz case of the yips has apparently hit Tatum! I would consider trading Tatum for KAT, or AD, or Zion Williamson, that's about it!! Brown on the other hand is a straight line player who can only see what's straight a head of him! On a good team he may be the third best player! I would trade him for Simmons in a minute, or a Jamal Murray Type! Ime should have never been hired, he is no where near a head coach, and probably the teams biggest problem! The rest of the team don't matter, until something changes with these 3!! Wow, I've been having the same thoughts on Tatum. Tatum has now shot 0-for-7 twice, 0-for-5, 0-for-4 and 0-for-3, AND GET THIS, he has made just one triple in 10 games. TEN GAMES he's made only one 3-pointer. THAT IS NOT A LEADER OR ELITE OFFENSIVE PLAYER. And as for Brown, I cannot argue your assessment of him. I want so bad to keep them together and build around them but you gotta wonder if that's what's best for the Celtics. And, listening to Brown, I believe we hired the wrong coach. Ime is way over his head. Yeah, but do you really think Tatum has regressed this much or is simply having an off year? I say dont break up the Jays. I have a lot of confidence Tatum will figure it out. Maybe not this year, but during the off-season.

It makes more sense that he's just frustrated because his team sucks. Soft, yeah, he's always been. He's a good wing defender though, but he's never going to be a good post defender. So don't ask him to be.

Agree...I think Tatum is tired of having to carry the team on his back...which is also due to bad coaching/office...Nesmith sits on the bench instead of getting the playing time to develop...idiots...Tatum needs his KG and Ray Allen...then he will be able to play happy and loose...

In case you missed this posted by Kdp59 on the Flea Market thread...
ouch!
well then you should like this little comic relief piece from earlier today then.
Tatum traded to Wizards in earth shattering NBA trade.
In what came a surprise to many NBA writers and fans, Jayson Tatum was traded to the Washington Wizards today. The deal came after Tatum apparently went to team management and told them he wanted out and that his mental health would not allow to keep playing for this franchise one more day.
Reports say everyone from the coaches to management to ownership were completely shocked and taken off-guard by this. Tatum reportedly responded by saying "come on guys, I don't even talk to anyone on the team, I mean I can't even stand to sit next to them on the bench for Christ sake. I mean are you guys blind or stupid!"
He then told the team he and his best friend Bradley Beal had already worked out the deal that Boston would be taking for the betterment of his mental health and all.
In the end it took all of 3 minutes to make the call and get it done. With the Wizards sending Kyle Kuzma, Spencer Dinwiddie and three first round picks to Boston in the deal.
Brad Stevens commented afterwards " We take the mental health of all our players very seriously and we understood Jayson simply could not continue to play here in this environment. We wish him the best moving forward."
In two side deals Boston traded Denis Schroder to Washington for Corey Kispert and in a third deal sent the recently acquired Bol Bol to Washington for a cup of coffee.
Wizards management said they still have some uniforms that should fit Bol from his dad somewhere in storage.
The Boston Celtics are expected to have a presser in the next day to two to introduce the new players to the fans. For now president of Basketball operations Brad Stevens would only say " we think these moves makes our team better and closer to that next banner, after all it's ONLY about Banners in Boston!"
Please see the website for a clearance sale on number 0 jersey's as the owners need the cash.
don't forget to subscribe for more Celtics knews and so we don't have to fire another staff member next week.

I think Tatum has played too much basketball over the last year and a half, without enough time off. Plus he's had Covid twice! I wouldn't trade him for just anyone, but he has regressed this year!

Investigating Celtics’ Jayson Tatum’s shooting woes: What has caused alarming decline for All-Star?
By Brian Robb | brobb@masslive.com
Tatum is still easily the best and most important Celtic on the roster this season. However, the fact that Boston is a subpar offensive team (22nd in NBA) and an average team on the whole can be attributed at least partially to his dropoff in performance.
Boston dropped to 23-23 on the season after losing to the Hornets on Wednesday night and Tatum’s stinker of a performance was a big reason why. He shot 5-of-19 from the field and 0-of-7 from 3-point range to finish with a meager 12 points, while piling up as many turnovers as assists (three). Everyone has bad nights shooting the ball but these types of dud outings have become far more prevalent for Tatum during the 2021-22 season, particularly from the perimeter.
Tatum is shooting a career-low 31.7 percent from 3-point range despite taking a career-high eight attempts per game from beyond the arc. That’s more than six points below his career average from 3 (38.3 percent). It’s been evident from day one of training camp that the Celtics needed more reliable shooting on this roster. However, no one projected that Tatum would be one of the weak links on that front, while career subpar shooters like Josh Richardson (41 percent) and Dennis Schroder (36 percent) held their own.
How bad has Tatum’s shooting become? He ranks last in the Eastern Conference in 3-point shooting percentage among players that attempt over seven 3-point attempts per game. Tatum attempts over eight per night.
The two-time All-Star is far from the only player struggling to shoot the 3-ball on the roster as Marcus Smart and Al Horford also are struggling with career-worst years. Still, his career-high usage (31 percent) makes it nearly impossible for Boston to overcome his somewhat frequent poor shooting nights. It’s also led to questions for the head coach about what’s wrong with the All-Star after a ‘slump’ that’s lasted half a season.
“I mean, it’s our team in general and certain players, it’s been a night-to-night thing,” Udoka said of Tatum’s struggles. “Some nights they’re shooting it regular or a hot streak and then some nights they have some off ones. I don’t think Jayson’s a guy you have to really worry about thinking about it too much. He comes down and takes the right shots and I like when he’s more aggressive getting downhill if the shot is not falling, but like I said he was oh-for-seven from three and probably five, six of them were wide open. So he’s not gonna pass those up regardless of if the ball is going in or not.
“My message to him and the others is how can you impact the game in another way if your shots are not falling, and so I felt that’s the area we could have improved on tonight.”
However, with Tatum’s struggles lingering so long into the season, there has to be at least some cause for concern here with the drop-off.
When it comes to shot selection though, Udoka has no concerns about the looks Tatum is getting from long distance as a factor in his down year.

From Forsberg:
All sorts of theories abound on Tatum’s shooting woes. Did he put on too much muscle this offseason? Is his shot flatter this year? Casual tape review doesn’t suggest any glaring changes to his form. Is he taking worse shots? Data suggests virtually no change in his corner/non-corner splits and he’s actually taking more catch-and-shoot 3s versus pull-up than a year ago. Advertisement
The one area we’re left pondering: Is a heightened workload, combined with a relentless grind over the past three years, conspiring against Tatum?
From the condensed pandemic schedule to multiple trips overseas with USA Basketball and now a notable spike in his minutes this season, there are a lot of miles on Tatum’s tires recently. Boston is 4-9 in Tatum's highest-minutes games this season, including seven losses by five points or less.

Tatum has put on upper body muscle but his legs still look birdy to me. He's always had a tendency to wear down. I'd say his legs are probably pretty sore. I'm sure his mental fatigue is really there, after the olympic summer and all.
As an aside, if I were an olympic athlete I wouldn't go to china for all their tea. Olympic dream or not, you'll likely come back with something worse than covid.

Tatum's play has definitely regressed this season. He just isn't the same. I think he's hurt in some way. Who comes out the game and goes directly to a stationary bike if they're fully healthy?
Obviously he's hurt in some way or he would go directly back to the bench and get his rest. The mere fact that he must go right to the stationary bike means that, if he did not, there would be an adverse impact to his ability to play.
Something on his body must remain warm. Something on his body would limit his effectiveness if he came out the game and sat directly on the bench.
