Smart layup won't go for the tie ...
Brown jumps on a loose ball lost by SA and gets a jump ball ...
SA gets it but has to save from OOB and Rob & Tatum can't track down the throw in ... Rob forced to foul

C's need a patented Smart steal ... Brown gets the steal and had a chance to tie but not enough arch on ball to get it to drop ... Ugh!
JT clearly not 100% yet and this game stayed close the entire way mostly exchanging baskets. Too much ISO in the 2nd half, not enough stops and poor execution kept us behind all night.

Refs totally missed the spirit of the charging foul. The charging foul is so that an offensive player is not given the right to violently displace a player who is owning a space.
Running in front of someone and suddenly stopping and getting predictablly run over is not a charge.
This could all be regulated by indicating that if a player is set for a full second before contact, it is a charge. If less than a full second it is a block. I would go a step further and make it 2 seconds to establish your space. Otherwise, play real defense!
That one rule change would bring back the post up offense and increase points in the paint and scoring overall.
Give the hand checking back to the defense and take the charges out of the game. Everything would be a blocking foul unless it was quite obvious it was an out of control move THROUGH a defenders body. If a guy gets knocked over trying to guard a bigger guy in the post, THAT IS GOOD FOR THE GAME!
Put the right guy on him!
Part of the chess match!
Bailing them out with a charge call is BAD FOR THE GAME!
That leads to small ball.
It eliminates being taller and stronger.
How is that American?
Seriously!
Shaq would be just another guy in this NBA the way it is officiated.
His stardom was built on being more physical than his defender.
Wouldn't be allowed today.
Weak shit.
They need to get it fixed and let men be men again in this game.
A game that nueters the Shaquille Oneals, Shawn Kemps, Anthony Masons and Tom Chambers of the.world is not a game I root for.
Tom, Shaq and Shawn's greatest dunks would be charges today.
Think about that!

An inferior team (Spurs) beat you with patience, ball movement and execution. It wasn't their defense that beat you. You beat yourself once again. We lose because we inevitably revert to Hero/ISO ball. Ime recognizes this (according to his presser) but has been unable to rectify the situation.
Bad coach, bad chemistry and ignorant GM that refuses to make changes in game philosophy or the player mix. We are stuck in Mediocre-ville.

Felger makes a great point re ISO and the lack of team ball.
He makes fun of how NBCSB makes a big deal out of Rob dunking 2-3 times each quarter but rarely touches the ball in Q4.
If the C's need a hoop so badly in Q4, why isn't Rob utilized instead of typical ISO thru Tatum, Brown or Smart?
