OT Padres battle back from down 1-7, score two runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th...win in the 11th...yeah, I finally got sucked into watching a game...great win...Padres have won 4 of 7 against the 'Bums,' as Pud would say...our town needed that...lost three straight to the Brewers last week after losing 2 of three to the Dodgers at home last weekend...

I think we are mostly agreeing. It would be one thing to lose to a full strength Hornets team, but we should not have lost to their B team, who we played yesterday.
We are in trouble. Fournier, I'm almost willing to call a bust and a poor use of the TPE. He is caught out of position on both ends of the floor. Leaving the corner for no reason on offense, leaving his man for no reason on D. He's spent a good percentage of his chunk of time here, with his face buried in his hands (at least he knows, he's screwing up).
Wish we paid the asking price on Vooch (2 firsts) and used the TPE there instead.

Trevor Bauer is a complete, total flake... but a class act and one helluva pitcher.... and very good for baseball!
Watch him talk about Tatis Jr, celebrating flipping the bat and doing the McGregor Strut... and putting a fast ball into Jr's ribs next time he steals a sign.
This is good stuff!!!

I give fournier the benefit of the doubt. He just came back after missing 2 weeks. He had covid. However, washington is doing well and we have a better roster. I will keep going back to mr stevens. But thats just me.

Watched the whole video...definitely good stuff...Bauer basically trolled Tatis for a whole 13 minute video...pretty sly...
My eight year old was going bonkers watching the SD comeback last night...I tried to tell him it is just one of many games, and not the playoffs, but to him it is all about the moment...

But thats just me. I do too.. He's played little too little to see how he fits with this team full of missfits the leading one being Stevens. He's a decent player and will be sought after in the offseason. We'll have a hard time signing him with our payroll next year many other teams will be bidding.. He;s not our savior however and looking down the road Nesmith and Lansford would have benifited with more playing time if we hadn't signed him.. Another knee jurk reaction to keep us just above .500. I'm begining to think Ainge has some mental issuses maybe early stage Dementia.. Stevens is just plain dumb when it comes to the NBA game. I'm ashamed how this team is being run all the way down to Wyc..

I don't see how you could make this claim watching this game. Are you talking about this Hornets team without Melo, Hayward and Monk? Because Rozier and Bridges are as good as any Celtic player and PJ Washington and Graham are better than any Celtic outside of JT and JB. This Hornets team is clearly less talented than this Celtics team.
When you add Lamelo and GH it's very close to a wash - But getting humilated by this iteration of Hornets team is a disgrace. I think the Hornets have as much talent, if not more, than do the Celtics, across the board. Tatum is probably the best player between the two teams. But Jaylen is not CLEARLY the next best player. Hayward and Melo are as good as JB. And, even if you do consider JB the 2nd best player between the teams, then Charlotte would arguably have the next 5 or 6 more talented players. Hayward, Melo, Rozier, Bridges, Graham, and Washington are more talented than the Celtics 3rd most talented player (Kemba or Smart). And Malik Monk is probably the best pure shooter between the teams. Even Wanamaker looks a whole lot better than do our bench players. The talent disparity is not as CLEAR as you may think. Someone has done a masterful job constructing this Hornets team for the long haul. But you are right that it's a disgrace getting blown out by this shorthanded Hornets team.

The Celtics top end talent is better, in Tatum and Brown. A regular season loss isnt solely based on talent, but in a 7 game series, id expect the Celtics to win that series 100% of the time

For all ya haters who expected Durant to come back rusty and out of shape.
He scored 33 pts with 4 assist and ONLY ONE turnover.
Harden will probably follow suit.
I wish no player on any team to get injured or sick..
I'm beginning to think most posters here arn't human and very self centered.
To the Griffin haters 16 pts 4 assists in about 20 minutes..
The Nets bought a team but they have a team. We have clowns running the Celts.
Oh and there is a go fund me account for India who needs help with the Virus. Contribute to the less fortunate. Don't be a Prakash..

JT would be the best player but I think it would be a mistake to think JB would clearly be the 2nd best player on the court. We have two guys to watch. Charlotte has six. The Celtics have done NOTHING this entire season that shows CONSISTENT ability to play well against any team in the playoff running. 100% expectation? I think sometimes we Celtics fans overvalue the level of our own player's talent. To think that having two "Carmelo-type" players and a bunch of bums who can't do anything efficiently is a recipe for playoff winning is beyond me.

What switch will the Celtics all of a sudden turn on once the playoffs start that was not present in their play all season?
Where is this playoff-level talent on the Celtics roster that will, all of a sudden, step to the forefront and make the Celtics a different team come playoff time?
I'm sorry, with these guys, I just don't see it. I hope I'm wrong.

Half court Solly.? Not happening.
CHA IS 4TH OR 5TH in the league in fast break points
They will be even better with BALL and Hayward back..
TT just as well set up a tent and a folding chair in the paint. Maybe lite a cuban cigar and sip a martini or two..

I dont think anybody would mistake me for overvaluing the Celtics players. I think im the other way, especially with CHA. I just dont value their players as highly as you guys do. JT and JB are by far the two best isolation scorers in this series (if it were a series). They have serious flaws in their game, but they can score. In a series, when you play the same team over and over, that is the most valuable asset imo. The game is slower paced and much more half court oriented. I think that helps the Celtics if they were to play. The rotations also are much tighter, you should only see 8 guys that touch the court for the Celtics in a playoff series.

They arent good enough to do that, I have never said other wise. But CHA isnt exactly a contender, theyre a middling Eastern Conference team
