On a solemn note, Brad reports that Terrence Clarke (Dorchester native) was killed tonight in a car accident:
(AP Photo/Darron Cummings)
Our sister station WKYT has confirmed former UK men’s basketball player Terrence Clarke has died in Los Angeles.
Sources tell WKYT Clarke and BJ Boston were leaving a workout in LA. We have been told Clarke died on the way to the hospital.
Boston was reportedly in a car behind him. We don’t know the details of what happened.
This story is developing.
Clarke’s teammates and friends have posted their thoughts and prayers on Twitter.
In March, the freshman announced he planned to submit his name for the 2021 NBA Draft and forgo his remaining eligibility.
Clarke was limited to eight games in the 2020-21 season – seven in nonconference play and one in the SEC Tournament – because of a right leg injury. He made six starts and averaged 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
The 6-foot-7 guard scored in double figures in four of his first five games and was shooting 49.1% prior to the North Carolina game when he suffered his leg injury. Clarke played through the injury vs. UNC and the next game at Louisville before being sidelined for the conference season.

Missed the last 7 games too scared to stream here. Boston Sports Bar in town is closed till May 1 due to a virus outbreak from several employees..
Not going to pretend i know anything or complain about the Celts.
I would like to see Lansford and NeSmith get more minutes.

Clarke was projected as a lottery pick around #5 when he committed to Ky. A leg injury cut his college career short but he was coming out this summer and the C's may have had eyes on him from the mid-late 1st round since he's slipped as a result of the injury and a small number of games played for an accurate assessment of his talent/ceiling.

University of Kentucky basketball player Terrence Clarke has passed away after being involved in a car accident in Los Angeles, according to WKYT. He was 19 years old.
Per the report, Clarke and Kentucky teammate BJ Boston were leaving a workout when the accident occurred.
Clarke grew up in Dorchester, and played high school basketball at the Rivers School in Weston and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. He committed to Kentucky in the fall of 2019, and played eight games for the Wildcats last year before a leg injury ended his season.
He also had his share of connections to the Celtics, too, going through workouts with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum back in 2019, and Clarke also made it known that he wanted to play for the Celtics after his collegiate career came to an end. Celtics coach Brad Stevens cut his postgame media availability short after finding out about Clarke’s tragic passing Thursday night.
Just last month, Clarke had declared for the NBA Draft. Yesterday, he signed with Klutch Sports, the agency that reps a number of prominent NBA players, including LeBron James.

Good win. Tough game tomorrow.
Won't it be just Irving ... Durant is questionable and Harden is out.
No Kemba. Hopefully JB is back.

I guess there's a good chance fournier will play tonight? We could probably use the scoring with Kemba out and everyone else tired.

ATL sits at 31 losses and Mia at 32. If Mia wins and we win, it's a 3way tie.
ATL has the bucks next...maybe I'd rather they beat Miami tonight

Why can't we rest Brown Tatum TT Smart and a few other players on back to back games like Walker. We can just make up silly excuses like a hang nail or a bad hair day.. Seems to work and Silver will just crack our knuckles like my old headmaster used to do it grade school.

But I don't think they want it.

How would i put it to the Js? Would you like to be fresh and rested for the playoffs and have a better shot at advancing or be one tired dog and likely get bounced out early? . How would you personally respond? Pops always said.. If ya can't beat em join them.. All other top teams will be doing this i'm 100% on that.

I guess Rwill confirmed our fears that his minutes must always be limited due to his condition. So much for our future starting center going forward.
Nobody has publicly linked his injury to that condition, but swelling in the back of his knees correlates perfectly to it.
