Waters fouled on the way to the rim ... makes a pair ... -10 (106-96) and Sixers run out the clock ... C's under .500 again with the loss

Can't say I'm surprised given no TT or GG (Fournier) to help the cause ... this loss was preordained, ask Doc.

It was frustrating as I watched the score mostly between a 15-10 point lead and Philly did not fade. Looked to get it to even under 10 to have some hope. Tatum and Brown are not the twosome I thought to bring us a championship like LeBron & Davis, and now probably Durant & Harden, Kobe and Pau Gasol, Curry and Klay etc. Smart plays his heart out and for that I give him credit. Kemba is erratic. The rest of the team is so-so. Only with a very good scoring & rebounding big man like Vuvevic, Embiid, Giannis Greek Freak and a Scoring Power Forward Oladipo, Kevin Love, Aldridge, Gordon etc. could we win a championship with Brown & Tatum.
Even the Lakers without LeBron & Davis won tonight and means to me their supporting players are better than ours.

RWill is that big man...unfortunately, the NBA is about developing story lines, and we despite being hungry are a few years away...the Kemba signing screwed us...at which time, Tatum will probably be gone...nice flash in the pan, but we need to focus on Brown and Smart and RWill and Nesmith...

The Ghost of Jayson Tatum is haunting this team:
JT's name does not show up in the play-by-play notes from the 8:35 mark till the 2:39 mark in Q1 ... that's half the qtr! Was he on the bench? He went 0-4 when involved in the action ... when! How can your top dog be a no-show in Q1 for half the period!!! Score after 1 period: 25-24 Sixers He went 2-5 in Q2 with two layups to begin the qtr be then went back to his J and a pair of 3's for the misses ... that's 2-9 (4pts) in the half! Halftime Score: 59-46 Sixers (-13) In Q3 JT went 3-6 with a pair of threes and a layup along with a pair or three FTs ... Score after 3 Periods: 85-70 Sixers (-15) Down 15pts as Q4 starts and JT's gotten 15pts to this point in the game and has been a ghost for a few stretches other than minutes on the bench for a rest. But consider his lack of contribution in Q1 with a 1pt deficit and then -13 after 2 periods (4pts total contribution) and by the time he woke up we lost ground being down 15pts after 3 periods when he finally pitched in with 11pts (15pts thru 3 qtrs) ... TOO LITTLE TOO LATE, JAYSON! In the final frame where we needed to cut the deficit to single digits by at least the 6-8 minute mark, Tatum was ABSENT! On the bench until the 8:39 mark (90-72 Sixers). Just a few minutes to cut an 18pt deficit to single digits. In essence, the game was over when JT came in and that's probably when Doc left for the night. Smart man ... Tatum went 2-2 for 5pts with 2 turnovers in the 7 minutes he played till the 1:39 mark when the bench took over ... Brad didn't help JT or the team sitting him for the 1st 8 mins unless that was a means to punish him for his poor play when it mattered. So JT finished with 20 meaningless points in this game ... another loss but his line doesn't look that bad save for those 3 TOs and the 3-10 from the perimeter. Superstar? Far from it ... this was a big game. A statement game for the Sixers and Tatum failed the test once again ghosting the team for the 1st quarter of play and seeing the team come out slow and behind. Luckily this game we kept it close despite his MIA and avoided being behind by double digits but by the end of the 1st half the writing was on the wall. Tatum needs to spend more time before games shooting if he doesn't already. He starts games cold as ice and takes nearly a half to find himself. This can't continue!

The only good thing about this game was Brad FINALLY giving Taco a few quality minutes! And what happened? He kept Embiid OUT near the 3 point line! Embiid would not come down land challenge Taco! I been saying for over a year Taco’s length would bother Embiid and the Greek Freak! More Taco time Brad!

Oh i'm happy. Sox won two in a row . We make no defensive adjustments its always ONE player who takes us out.. Not the fuckin threes we shot over 40% from deep last night. Wagner and Kornet suck.. We got nothing for Theis just like we got nothing for Hayward or Rozier.. This shit show needs to end.. CBS and Ainge should bow out.. Oh and i wouldn't eat at Subway if it was free. We have real Italians who make real subs .

Last 10 games against teams with a winning record.. We won TWO.
Stevens built his record up whipping on the bottom feeders..
Nothing has changed....

I tried to do the math myself, but since Stevens' first year the Celtics Record against teams above .500 is 132-186. The Last 5 years they are 104-107, not including this year. Looking back in the Eastern Conference, thats kind of right on par with the other top teams in the east. Teams make a killing on the bad teams in the regular season, then rely on their talent to get by in the playoff series.
