www.celticsblog.com/2021/1/17/22232496/development-will-pay-off-boston-celtics-grant-williams-semi-ojeleye-robert-williams-payton-pritchardBut does making a trade for Tucker and leaning on Teague (knowing that Pritchard is in Boston for the foreseeable future) put the Celtics over the top? Are they honestly just one piece away? In an ideal world, maybe. In reality, it’s going to take more than Tucker or another mid-level veteran to get Boston over the hump and onto the level of Brooklyn and Milwaukee.
When looking at things in this light, Ainge’s willingness to stand pat in the face of criticism starts to make sense. He’s biding his time, giving the young players every chance of developing and maybe increasing their trade value as a byproduct.

Don't forget that Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum came from the draft picks that Brooklyn gave Boston for Pierce and KG. If the trade was only for Jarrett and LeVert then it would've been a wash. But since 8 1st round picks were included, Houston wins this trade. Looks like about half or more are heavily protected.. Might get 4 really good picks maybe they find two real future stars.. What's of more concern.. Keeping the trio together.. They will find middies for a supporting cast if the Nets win. Houston got a lot for Harden considering he forced the trade.. I would be happy if i was their GM i'll say that....

Do people forget they beat the Celtics by 30? The C's have come a long way since then. They had several new parts and some people were hurting. As pointed out BKN is very different (may even be better if Nut Job's head is on straight at all). Still it's motivation. I wouldn't count on Miami being in the same rut either, it's going to be tough for them to dig themselves out too. I think the C's will fight it out with Philly for 3 and 4, with the Bucks as #1 and BKN's talent them getting to #2 after some growing pains. I agree, I’m not actually judging either team based on regular season games. On here a lot seems to be, I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy. Like the comment that harden and Durant were great yet only won by a small margin, yet it’s ignored when they beat the Celtics by 30. Seeding to me doesn’t matter much, I expect the Celtics to beat anybody in a series besides BKN or MIL. I’d pick those two teams in a prediction if I were a betting man, but doesn’t mean the Celtics couldn’t win

It must be February because Kemba will be playing later. Happy to admit that the writers whose podcast I watched were wrong
