Horford is that guy that gets the jobs with a good resume but never meets the expectations. Agree. He had his chance in 2018, Game 7 of the east finals. Horford should have stepped up in that game for the Celts to advance to the Finals. Same case when he was with the Hawks, they always exited in the playoffs. Al Horford just can't get to that next level. He's just a borderline All-Star player.

We play like this against the Raptors, we lose by 20! Apples and oranges. Toronto is a very small team. When Van Vleet is the SG, you know it's a small team. Reason why the Celts were struggling in this game is because they allowed the Sixers to get 20 offensive rebounds. Toronto will not get 20 offensive rebounds against the Celts. In fact, the Celts are a bigger team than the Raps. It will be one of those teams where the Celts have the advantage in size.

Brown and Kemba came up big in the 4th! That's why losing Hayward is not a big of a deal. It's against the Bucks where the Celts need Hayward the most. And yes, Brown and Kemba came up big in the 4th. The advantage of having multiple star players.

JB making 90% of his FTs tonight ... that's LARGE!
C's only shot 26% as a team from the perimeter ... this is a game we should have lost with poor three point shooting and a lack of interior scoring from our bigs but did it in transition, from the line and sprinkled with threes and twos with a bunch of layups from that part of the game I saw (2nd half).

In 3 playoff games this season, Horford is only averaging 5.3 ppg. Wow! And he played 38 minutes tonight and scored a grand total of 6 points. And he's on the books for $27, $27 and $26 million for the next three seasons. YES...

Yes, Celts should have lost this one, but just like that Orlando game, the Celts found a way to win. This is a good sign because there will be more games like this one. The ability to win ugly games is a mark of an elite team.

I hear the GSW might look to pick up Smart this offseason. it'll cost them the #2 pick in the draft plus some....

I am glad we got Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker. Those are three bad dudes.
I am so glad that we no longer have Al Horford and Kyrie Irving.
I miss Aron Baynes - he was the Embiid-neutralizer!
At least we know we won't play a team in the East with a better center than does Philly from here on out.

Marcus Smart makes winning plays.
It's not far-fetched if GSW does offer the #2 pick for Smart.
If you guys have League Pass, check out the steal that Smart gets with 1:40 left in the 4th qtr.
Not only did Smart steal the ball, he directly passed it to Brown and Brown ended up converting a 3-point play in transition.
What a play!
Smart could just have stolen the ball and not pass it to Jaylen.
But Smart knew they had an advantage in transition.
Again, what a play by Smart.

Celts even have a size advantage over Toronto.

Celts get outrebounded 57-45, allow the Sixers to get 20 offensive rebounds, and Celts still end up winning the game.
Why?
Celtic defense is vastly improved compared to the last time we saw them in March.
Even though the Celts were just 41.4% from the field, the Sixers were worse, just 29.5% shooting overall.

I truly believe the deeper the Celts go into the playoffs, the better they will become.
This current Celtics team really reminds me of the 2015 GSW championship team.
Let's not forget that this Celtics team has 4 star players.

We don't get on the break if Smart hesitates or waits to land on the floor before passing it to Brown. He did a "touch-steal-pass" to Brown to start the break. He could have easily just landed with the ball gathered himself and ate some clock. That was a winning play. But the foul on Richardson taking a 3-pointer, the foul tripping Embiid, the walking into an ill-advised 3-pointer were NOT winning plays. But I'll take 14 points and 8 rebounds and 3 assists and 3 steals any day from him while taking just 8 shots.

It will be a totally different approach against the Raptors.
Celts will NOT need to double team any of the bigs from the Raps.
