I agree SF...quicker the Lakers are out the better...maybe we can square off against them next year when our guys have been in the league a little more and get more respect from the refs...
Though I understand Fierce's bravado...but i can enjoy a Celtics/Clippers finals a lot more easily...
Mea Culpa...but I continue to bring up game 7 2010. Yup, I’d like to beat Doc. I know we lost Perkins in Game 6 and in the finals they got the egregious difference of 42 foul shots to our 18 and just 21 in critical Qtr #4 when we had a 13 pt lead end of Qtr #3. Doc needed to tell both Rashid Wallace and Garnett, both 7 footers when we were losing the rebound advantage substantially, especially in the 4th Qtr. that they needed to be in the post at all times getting rebounds and not shooting 3s as we had PP & Allen do that with Rondo driving to the basket. They killed us with reb advantage 53 to 40 ( I mean 13 extra chances) and only shot 38% and we did 42% but the extra chances killed us. Gasol schooled KG out rebounding him 18 to 3. I wish we had picked up Gasol a couple of years ago. Not soft…always liked him. I mean when Kobe shoots 6 for 24 or 25% and is MVP it was painful. He’d been a goat had they lost.

Miami losing to Phoenix, just now, means the Celts have secured the #3 seed.
Earlier the Pacers beat the Lakers.
Looks like it's going to be Philly vs. Boston in the 1st round.
The remaining 3 games of the Celts are irrelevant.

And i heard bad tidings on simmons today. May not be back at all Sixers stole Horford from the Celts and look at the outcome. Will actually the move may pay off now. It was a total bust with all 3. You could call it a steal but it's a steal they overpaid for and I wouldn't take Horford back for half his salary

In this game, the Celtics used penetration and ball movement to set up outside shots, highlighted by the team’s 27 assists.
Robert Williams had another great game, coming off his breakout performance against Brooklyn. He scored 10 in only 11 minutes, grabbed for rebounds, and was a presence defensively. He has the tools to be a stellar modern-day NBA center on the defensive side, as he can switch easily and protect the rim.
However, he has a tendency to make mistakes that drive coach Brad Stevens insane. If he can increase his basketball IQ and begin to understand his place within the defense, he should get a permanent rotation spot.
Stevens gave a preview of the potential playoff rotation, playing only eight guys in meaningful minutes: Tatum, Brown, Kemba, Hayward, Theis, Marcus Smart, Brad Wanamaker, and the aforementioned Williams. It’s certainly possible that Enes Kanter could be used in some matchups, but against most modern NBA teams he has trouble finding his place on the court.
While he has his way on the offensive glass, he gets crushed on defense, specifically in the pick and roll. It’s also possible for someone like Semi Ojeleye or Grant Williams to crack the rotation come playoff time, but right now, those eight players have earned Stevens’ trust in the bubble.
Or we could get a player's coach like Doc Rivers...oh, never mind...

Ouch, you are a tough fan/man...dang I had not thought of that revenge angle of beating Doc as Clippers coach for bad coaching in 2010...holy mackeral...and that is a big fish...

You could call it a steal but it's a steal they overpaid for and I wouldn't take Horford back for half his salary Horford is a good man and took the money for all his family...extended...and the Celts were not going anywhere with him or willing to overpay...he would have stayed if it was just for fun, in my opinion...

Signing Kemba was more of a message than a need.
Celts were a young team at that time.
So why did Ainge sign a veteran like Kemba?
I think it was more of the Celtics telling the world that Boston is a good destination for max players.

Loved this game, and so glad basketball is back. My HS team may not be ready to go until March......ouch!! RWill is really stepping it up. Great to see. I like Romeo, but he needs to score a little bit. I have been a little behind, so this question is for my education...........is Hayward missing time for childbirth? And, if so, what rounds? Sorry, I'm still catching up.

You could call it a steal but it's a steal they overpaid for and I wouldn't take Horford back for half his salary As I have said about 6’8” Theis who is a fighter and a tremendous rebounder at that height but still can’t compete many times with 7 footers. Horford was the same but at 6’9” he still could not be a dominant Center.

Sorry, I'm still catching up. Hayward has indicated that he intends to take time off for childbirth...not sure how long it would be for, quarantine on rentry, etc...when I guess would be determined by expected date of birth and the pull of the full moon...We need him to move the ball around, so it is not good...

Bad karma? and most forget, Big Al lost his starting position and had been relegated to coming off the bench prior to this injury to Simmons. Although now that Simmons is out and Al starting again I expect him to play better.

Bruins down 0-1 after one period...on NBCSN right now...C's at 5 eastern! As you know with the 3 hour distance can watch the game at 2 and go out to dinner at 5 here. When games were 7:30-8 pm in the East my wife was forced to eat at a sports bar or anyplace that had a TV here at 4:30-5:00 pm. But now no TVs as eating here is only outside and unfortunately many places with tables on the sidewalks and in parking spaces in front of the restaurants are a bit close together as they need the business and here in Carmel, a tourist town like La Jolla , has tourists passing the tables and ogling your meal and many times without masks!

Crap...just realized the game is only on the NBA sports package...cant DVR it with the service I have...will catch what I can...plan on firing up the barby after the game...Sunday night out to dinner sounds good SF, probably not too crowded...people headed home...go Celts!
