Lakers come to Boston Monday. Celts better be ready.
I'm not anxious to see our 4th loss in a row at the hands of a visiting Laker squad but I fear that's what we're in for ...

We need a Big and a sniper ... one will not be enough.
Face it ... we aren't that good.

Instead of Drummond and Rose, make it Drummond and Kennard for Hayward.

Fierce, look at the stats for Bridges. If JT could do that every night with his superior rebounding I'd have no argument.
I'd love to see either Bridges brother on this team.

Tatum was very efficient when he was taking less shots when Kyrie was the man. Look at Paul Pierce's FG% his first 3 seasons in the NBA. That's why Tatum is a superstar in the making, he's not yet there. The kid is only 21 years old.

Grant Williams started played 13 minutes and as usual gave nothing!! We'd have been better off playing with 4 !!

Tatum still ended up with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
He also shot 10-20 from the field.
The problem in this game is the Suns were just better.
Suns played smart basketball, pounding the ball inside then kicking it out to open shooters if the Celts collapse.
What the Celts need is a big man who can score inside so that opposing teams will play defense inside and the Celtic shooters will get more open shots.
Right now the Celts are too dependent on the outside shot.
There's just no diversity on offense from this Celtics squad.

Volume shooters getting their points but the two of them limit shots for moar efficient scorers. You can't have 2-3 of those guys on a team ... 1 is enough.

Tatum had 26 and 10, but as usual stats lie! Not a good game for him!

He's a smart basketball player, but he's just not producing enough on offense. The problem is he's just too short to score inside against tall NBA bigs. Celts are just desperate, that's why they're using undersized players at the Center position.

Right ... he got alot of those good stats when the game was over ... desperation threes and runners undefended.
They would have been moar meaningful had he done it earlier in the game when we were completely dependent on Smart.

That's why I keep saying one of the wing players has to go. Right now it's Hayward that's expendable. If Hayward is gone, I'm sure Jaylen Brown will get more shots. Kemba, Tatum, and Brown, that's your 3 scorers right there. Smart really doesn't have to shoot a lot. Just by removing Hayward and replacing him with a big man makes the Celts more balanced.

Hayward also attempted 20 shots and the biggest miss of all was the wide open lob that he missed. What I'm trying to say is if the Celts have Tatum, Kemba, Brown, and Hayward, that's too many players who want the ball in their hands. Remove Hayward from the equation and you end up with 3 scorers in Tatum, Kemba, and Brown.

That's the essence of my trouble with DA. It's bball and size matters yet he's always drafting or getting FAs that are too small. They may be quick or talented but you'd think by now he'd see that we are at a disadvantage vs teams like the Sixers with size at every position.

I agree. That's why I was upset that Ainge drafted Langford when a guy like Goga was available. But Ainge can correct the problem if he cashes in on the assets. Ainge tried to draft bigs but they didn't pan out. JaJuan Johnson, Fab Melo, Sully, and even Olynyk ended up busts for Ainge. Right now the spotlight is on Ainge to correct the problem. What Ainge does in the next 2 weeks and a half will determine the fate of this Celtics team.

Is Marcus turning into the 3&D player we hoped he'd become or is this fools gold?

Is Marcus turning into the 3&D player we hoped he'd become or is this fools gold? Well he looked he was early in the year, then he cooled off and also had injuries, now he's starting to look like he could be!!

Seriously, the Hawks were the ones who turned down the deal when all they had to give up was Damian Jones and Parsons or Crabbe?
Clearly all the Pistons want is a 1st round pick.

Is Marcus turning into the 3&D player we hoped he'd become or is this fools gold? Fools gold or not, Smart is a winner and a good leader. When Hayward missed that open lob, Smart was telling Hayward to not worry about it and they'll be fine. That was great leadership by Smart. Having said that, I still don't want Smart to shoot a lot.

He was shopping at Dollar General when he should have gone to Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Saks or Bloomingdales.

The good news is all these losses will force Ainge's hand.
There are lots of options.
Another possibility is if OKC will want to go under the tax line.
Celts can offer Hayward and other players for Steven Adams and Gallinari.
