Every talented player bounces back ... where's the consistency, the defense, the outstanding effort on a regular basis. That's what makes a superstar and I'm not seeing it.

We really missed Baynes tonight and Al's restriction kept him out when he was needed most ... Theis is still a PF in my eyes.

You're forgetting that he's only 20 years old. Right now he's averaging 17 ppg and 6.5 rpg. He's also shooting well from the field, from the FT line, and the 3pt line. The consistency will come.

Losses like this is good for the Celts as it will force Ainge to improve the team.
Celts 38 rebounds. Rockets 54 rebounds.
It's not hard to figure out what the problem is.
Horford is still good on offense as he can still score by shooting from the outside. But Horford is not an inside force anymore.
Lesser depth and a better interior presence will make this team an elite team.
The talent and athleticism is there.
Celts just need a guy like Capela who can give the Celts some inside scoring to keep the defense honest.

Portis, 23, has appeared in just nine games so far this year, averaging 11.9 PPG and 8.0 RPG in 24.4 minutes per contest. After opting not to lock up Portis with an extension during the offseason, the Bulls are said to be evaluating whether the fourth-year power forward is a core piece as he nears restricted free agency. However, his latest setback will put that evaluation on hold, as Chicago will have to wait at least a few more weeks to assess how Portis fits into a frontcourt that also features long-term building blocks like Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter.www.hoopsrumors.com/chicago-bulls
Yabusele for Portis ... 2nd rd pk sweetener if needed.
Portis is 6'11" and strong as a bull (pardon the pun).

If Bobby Portis will only cost Yabu and a 2nd round pick, I'm in!

Asked about the challenge of defending James Harden, Stevens lauded what Marcus Smart had done in previous matchups against the defending MVP and made the case that Smart should get some consideration when it's time to vote for awards at the end of the season. Brad Stevens campaigns for Marcus Smart to make All-Defensive Teams
Harden dropped almost 50. Talk about someone being POS Stevens in preparing for the Rockets game .
This friggin' dumb ass coach is talking about awards while the Rockets cruise past the Celtics without Paul.

Players walk all over him and thinks that by praising their failures will lead to success. Totally disonnant.

None what so ever. Stevens approaches all the teams the same.
Gordon and Harden had 64 pts Irving and Smart had 34 in the same minutes. My math says that is a -30 . -30 Nah that can't be right.

Kyrie took only 13 shots! He needs to start taking 20 and playing 40 minutes. He's 26 years old and a superstar!! Harden took 26 by comparison!!

Even with Rivers and Harden in, we had no answer. One of those things we have witnessed before, size advantage over our guards.

Just looked to me like we ran out of gas. Kyrie ran out of gas after that big game versus Philly

That would be very unfortunate since they average less than 30mins.

Come on now . Who really watched the game? Besides Chris
How many times did we see Stevens defensive player of the year guarding Harden?
Stevens ran out of gas and Harden played more minutes than any Celtic. What was worse Harden was questionable before the game.

Well, all I know is that I knew the Pats were towards the end of a great dynasty, but I thought the Celts were on the rise...as far as I am concerned, this is the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen, so I guess this goes fully on the coach...crap, and I have been a belie-ber...

Portis is a FA and CHI may not want to pay him with the frontcourt they are developing now.
Don't see him as a shot blocker like Williams but an enforcer in the paint to force errors and rebound as well as score those easy low post buckets you have been screaming about.

We've been through this blame Stevens for every Celtic loss sentiment for years now.
And every time Brad Stevens gets the last laugh.

You've been constantly pointing out or blaming the bench for giving up leads. So when Stevens is criticized for sticking with the bench too long vs Houston, to the point it was too late for a comeback when Irving came back into the game by Steven's design, you think it's wrong to criticize the coach?
Fierce, you can't have it both ways!
Somebody decides who plays on the bench and how long they play. If they can't keep the game close or add to the scoring then the rotation has no chemistry and the blame can only be pointed at one person unless the players are dogging it.
